thats weird. The first time i heard this song, I thought it was about someone being selfish. and I thought the lines "first you save yourself, then you save the world..but first you save yourself" not like him asking her, but him saying...thats what you do. its always about you, you come first.
and the part about him needing her shelter now, but he says "but..." and repeats the corus..sort of reiterating the fact that he might need her, but he must not forget that she always puts herself first.....then comes everyone else.
