Lyric discussion by Nick the Bastard

"You can look back babe, but it's best not to stare." That's right up there with "Some days are diamonds, some days are rocks," "Most things I worry 'bout never happen anyway," and dozens of Tom Petty's fantastic lyrics. Simple, relatable, and profound.

Speaking of these lyrics reminding me of other Petty lyrics, the lines "I can work, I can travel, sleep anywhere, cross every border with nothing to declare" remind me of the lines from A Mind with a Heart of Its Own "I've been over to your house, and you've been over sometimes to my house, I've slept in your tree house, my middle name is Earl." Both are kind of funny and unexpected. And I love them both for that reason.
