Lyric discussion by madnesslover_89

OK. First, nobody should visit the MEATSPIN site. It tried to activate a known-to-be-dangerous file download that installs a new ActiveX codec in Internet Explorer. I use Firefox which is how I knew it happened. Not to mention that if you're a straight guy you won't like the site anyway.

People seem to have the genre messed up. This is one of the first true HiNRG songs ever made. HiNRG is a form of New Wave. New Wave is distantly related to electronica, and is a type of electronica but is actuallly very different. HiNRG = "High Energy".

I was debating including this, seeing as it is completely irrelevant, but it may be an effective way to slap some homophobes in the face:

Pete Burns was/is either gay or has an alternative gender identity. This song was one of the first songs to be successful in the music industry that featured a gay theme (and it does; the lyrics are from one man to another). Remember, I said ONE of the first, not the first. There were others to come before it.

Personally, I see this as just another bouncy HiNRG song. If you're feeling kinda down, it can bring your mood up a bit just because of how 'light' and 'bouncy' the music is.

People who are really into other forms of electronica that feature lyrics really owe a lot to songs like this. New Wave is what started the electronic music type, and HiNRG inspired a lot of 90s pop. Pop is one of the genres that are commonly 'dissected' and used in electronic music (you never hear a mixed Van Halen track coming from a club when you drive by).

I'll be keeping an eye on this page after I make this post. Any comments that reflect negativity towards gays will be reported. If you're planning on making such a post, you should feel disgusted with yourself.

Hey there, today, january 2014, I have read your post. Since last year I've been editing ALL my music with the right name, artist name, genre... And this is the only HiNRG song that I have. So I was thinking in changing the genre, so it woudn,'t be the only HiNRG song. But now I know ;)
