"The owls have been talking to me" - from "Twin Peaks".
To me, that somehow sums up Sparklehorse's music: A very stoned Neil Young seen through a David Lynch filter. Nothing makes perfect sense, yet somehow it does, and creeps me out to no end - but I love it.
