Im guessing, since a minstrel is a middle age preformer and entertainer, that this song is about trying to influence a young lady into loving you. When I think about a minstrel, i think about a jester(hense the entertainer). Its kind of about making a fool of yourself trying to impress some one, or maybe even TRYING to make a fool of yourself to make them laugh. Basically, he's trying to make a girl love him, and is telling everyone else to keep going, not to listen to anyone who doubts them.
But yeah, my interpretation. Great song, great band, great album, great everything. They deserve a nobel peace prize lol./
