Definitely my favorite Eels song. Not exactly sure what it means. There seems to be a death metaphor in there ("the sun is gonna set...there's nothing I regret" and then of course the chorus).

Might be about an elderly man who doesn't want to argue with his old love, or a family member ("no need to go and burn it down now" - like burning bridges).

@TooLongAwake well actually i'm pretty sure it's a reference to a time in 1998 (song came out on his 2003 album but was in the works far before that) when we he was taking care of his cancer-ridden mother, the only family he had left alive.
