I am Christian and a Tool listener. Although I see what Maynard is trying to say about organised religion, I think it is ludicrous to insult God. To acknowledge his existence and then demean him is not only pointless but blasphemous. If he does not believe in the existence of God then why insult God directly rather than his followers.
@Retribution I also am a Christian and a fan of Tool. I agree that it's ridiculous to insult God but Tool would not carry the same weight if Maynard were not as anti-religious as he is. The same is true with Eddie Vedder.
Rest assured though: just because you listen to a band and enjoy their music does not mean you condone every single thing the band stands for.
