It's parking lot. You gotta remember, this is a cover. I think Joni Mitchill did the orignial. Go look it up and listen to her song, and it'll be obvious. The song wouldn't make sense otherwise. Anyway. Has anyone else heard that this song is originally about a father "taken away" (either killed or just left his family) in a taxi cab? That was a rumor I heard, but I don't know... It's definitely about how we take not only people, but everything for granted. Even simple things like trees. We need to stop paving the world with parking lots before we have to go to a mueseum to see trees... A great song. We always need reminding about being greatful, and this one does it so wonderfully.

thats exactly what I took it as. I think this was aimed at saying everything is taken for granted, including people. its called the big yellow taxi, and the big yellow taxi takes his girl away. i think its actually about losing everyhting. the environment, your love, etc
