Lyric discussion by Gabigs

This song fascinates me -like most SG songs- because of its vocabulary...I felt overwhelmed by how different their songwriting was from the rest of pop bands-singers, I could actually find it a challenge to try to understand the words and sing along. It's a heartfelt song, still an uptempo one, but it doesn't mean it isn't a painful one. My favourite lines: "We twist and turn where angels burn Like fallen soldiers we will learn that once forgotten, twice removed love will be the death... the death of you"

I was struck too by its sheer beauty when I heard it for the first time, as a teenager. The metaphors used, the expressions, the melodies, the vocal delivery, the ambiguous situation being described: all of it coming together to deliver a song that was a real pearl, a hidden gem on their debut album.
