i am surprised no one has commented on this song, because it's beautiful. andrew has this way of being able to describe human emotion through his music in a way that is just too genuine. "sometimes perfection can be perfect hell." i love this song.
i only got this account to post a comment on this song because i think im the only one so far having a complete different opinion on his lyrics. to me its about a nice relationship that ends up bad at the wedding ceremony. cuz he walks down the isle and she counts every minute that hes not there. idk. pretty literal, but it makes sense...

i believe the 'aisle' he's refering to is the airplane isle, not a chuch isle. who wears chuck's to their wedding? :P and the babies he's talking about, are babies on the plane. everytime i'm on a plane, there's at least one baby wailing a majority of the flight. i think its about him moving, and being really upset that he has to leave his girl, and every perfect moment and memory just torments him that much more. she counts the minutes that he isn't there, thinking about how long he's been gone, where as he thinks about it in...

"All I hear is what's playing through the in-flight radio
Now every word of every song
I ever heard that made me want to stay
Is what's playing through the in-flight radio."
maybe he's constantly flying home to see her? he just obsesses and focuses on when he can go home, even just for vacation, because he'll take what he can get.
"So read your books, but stay out late some nights (some nights)
And don't think that you can't stop by the bar"
he understand she misses him, but he doesn't want her moping around, he tells her to still go out and have fun, going to the bar and enjoying herself won't upset him, its what he wants for her.
he loves her. she loves him. he breaks it off while on the road, because it's not working, and now he's coming home and sayin, pilot, take your time. but he still wants to be friends with her (and don't think that you can't stop by the bar). he's hoping she'll show up because he misses her friendship, and he's choosing to only remember the good things about her (sometimes perfection can be perfect hell). my two cents
