It appears to be a rich family, with nanny and housekeeper and everything. I'd assume that it's told from the perspective of the nanny. I think that the daughter is very upset because she never recieved any love from the mother, and one day everything bursts for her. Look at this:

BANDAGED FROM FOOT TO HEAD"
She sees a female in the hospital, thus it can't be a guy that's been violent.
