Lyric discussion by jenn_04

Alright, I came here to find a meaning, but after I just found a fight over religon, i decied to try to figure it out myself.... So to me, this is just talking about growing up catholic, and failing like many catholics do. How he keeps sinning and such (which is why he is a rebel of the sacred heart), but he still knows that his faith teaches him that god is still going to be there, and he feels guilting about it (with a great referance to the sea mariener by swift). I think he also makes a referance about how hes going to have to pay for it all in purgetery (sp?) in "Be glad you sailed for a better day/ But dont forget therell be hell to pay". So basivly he is saying how he is always going to end up sinning, and he feels kinda guilty about it, and knows he's going to end up paying for it, but still ends up doing it anyways. I may be wrong, i came here to see how my version of it held up, but i just got a religon lession.... btw, i am catholic, and couldn't care less who is going to heaven, as far as i care, thats gods job not mine...

This has nothing to do with the song though I'd like to say that you're obviously ignorant of your faith (Assuming you're still active on this website).
