@mrs. brightside You may remember the 80's hair metal band Enuff Z Nuff. I was best friends with their guitarist the late Derek Frigo. Sadly he lost his battle with heroin addiction and overdosed and died. Black Balloon makes me cry everytime I hear it for I tried so hard to help Derek. Sober he was the coolest dude on earth, but when on H, he just turned into a monster! He sold hundreds of thousands of dollars of high end guitars, effects, amps ect, for pennies on the dollar to support his habit. His late father Johnny and myself...

He went a couple times, but soon fell back into his demons. I just couldn't stand watching Frigo destroy himself. It was destroying me emotionally for I loved him dearly as a friend, forget the rockstar fame. I finally had a serious talk with Derek, where I flat out told him, I cannot hang out with you anymore and watch you destroy yourself. We still kept in contact and he did seem like he was getting his shit together, had a few months of sobriety under his belt then, one afternoon, I guess he used and overdosed on Sunset Blvd in Beverly Hills. Miss ya Frigo, love you always and forever brother. Exactly, Mrs Brightside!! When I talk to people about Frigo, I want them to remember him for the cool as fuck dude he was to me and monster guitar player. I am a drummer and we did some demos, and I cherish those. Even got Donnie Vie to come over one afternoon and do some vocals.
"about a woman drifting away into hopelessness, is about Takac's ex-wife" "fcked up sht happens to good people sometimes"
apparently, john wrote it about robby's ex-wife, they both know what the song means, but they never ever ever talk about it.
