Wow, after being left by someone I thought I had a future with, that I thought I meant something to, this song has become so powerful to me. It fucks you up to realize that someone that is so important to you, isn't all that interested in you anymore. To think like this is to do yourself & former love such a terrible disservice of disingenuity. Of course you meant something to them during your time together. Back then, it was real. It was genuine. It is just that you no longer mean as much to them.
Some relationships are not meant to last. They exist to prepare each individual for future, longer term pairings. They endow people with experience to enable different/better treatment of future partners. It hurts but, it gets better
