i think its about people who are just so uneducated (in the life sense) that they just go about their daily lives like they are the centre of the universe - but one day its going to hit them, just how insignificant in the greater scheme of things they actually are, and they are going to 'drown' in the realisation. Like Outside Irony says, they'll get what comes to them.
i dont know if anyone has read the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy series... in one book theres this machine that in effect destroys peoples souls by showing them to paraphrase, a microscopic dot on a microscopic dot on a microscopic dot on a microscopic dot with a little arrow that says 'You are here'. this sing kind of reminds me of that!
