if you listen to the song as if a girl is singing it definitely sounds has a lesbian theme. like two young girls being attracted to each other, one is enthusiastic and the other thinks she only wants to experiment "the love is fleeting", but is attracted to her none the less hence the confusion... "bobby said its fine he dont consider it cheating", if it was about a boy and a girl then why would the boyfriend not consider it cheating?

@stevycurley892 - they seem to be quite free people, from the lyrics. i could imagine that if the singer was a guy it'd still make sense; it's only a kiss, so it doesn't really matter.
