(what do your nipples look like)
wherever i go
i take a little piece of you
i collect
i reject
photographs i took of you
well times i passed through
so many faces
so many places
i have got to have a memory
i have never been there
i have never had you
i can't remember
give me your reminder
i collect
i reject
memorabilia
(now girl..only it's flavor..bow down here)
keychains and snowstorms
the taste of your sweat
the look in your eye
i have been inside you
i know what it feels like
(wet as it is..the whiter the honey)
i collect
i reject
memorabilia
(goodies come in here all day)
give me your reminder
i can't remember
i collect
i reject
memorabilia
wherever i go
i take a little piece of you
i collect
i reject
photographs i took of you
well times i passed through
so many faces
so many places
i have got to have a memory
i have never been there
i have never had you
i can't remember
give me your reminder
i collect
i reject
memorabilia
(now girl..only it's flavor..bow down here)
keychains and snowstorms
the taste of your sweat
the look in your eye
i have been inside you
i know what it feels like
(wet as it is..the whiter the honey)

i can't remember
i collect
i reject
memorabilia

but it scares me because it feels like the voices in the background are talking to me... i even swear i hear my name said :|
Also, I believe Marc Almond was gay so that's likely to effect all your pathetic interpretations in some homophobic way.
Then it says we remember the pain of the relationship ending, for better or worse, and we put it out of mind until the next time we reminisce over it. "I reject".
There is also a slight sense of dominance. "I have been inside you, I know what it feels like".
The towns I passed through- not things
Keychains and snowglobes
The meaning probably varies depending on how it's looked at, but to me it's about someone who feels he is always in the present, and therefore needs some sort of reminder to be sure that the things he experienced actually happened:
I have got to have a memory
Or I have never been there
I have never had you
The last part makes me think that maybe he'd never really had the person he is stalking- at least it seems like he's stalking someone. So when he takes photos of her he's probably imagining that he actually did things with her, but in reality did not. The snowglobe part points to that as well, like a fantasy in his little world. The photos make it seem more real, giving him false reminders to feed his fantasy.
Something like that anyways, anyone agree?
And yeah there is talking in the background, it's audio samples from a prank phone sex call with a few other things, which can be found on the DVD of Closure. It's pretty funny.
I collect, I reject, photographs I took of you
The towns that I passed through, I've got to have a memory
Or I have never been there.
I have never had you, had you, had you.....
I can’t remember, give me a reminder
I collect, I reject memorabilia....memorabilia
Soft cells version SUCKS.
anyways this is about the meaning not what you think about it.
