This is on of the greatest songs on our Earth! You can really feel this song too! The lyrics are great and Slash pulls out an awesome guitar solo!

These lines speak to a great many people, myself included. Some people are just too afraid to open up and show how frickin' much they care for their significant other, because they're always afraid of being hurt. Even when the other is holding them close and letting them into their own life.... And some people are afraid to open up because even their best friends, who know them better than any, still do the things to hurt them the absolute most. Therefore, a person might be afraid to give part of themselves for a lover because hearts can change. It makes sense y'all.

And is was strange... the first time I heard this song, it was a cold day in late November (in Michigan nontheless), and it was raining like mad. My boyfriend asked me out the day before. It is weirdly relevent.

'November Rain' was a song that singer Axl Rose wrote after being inspired by a short story from author Del James. The story was called 'Without You' and chronicled the turbulant relationship between a blues artist and his beautiful lover. Both have a heavy drinking habit and the story climaxes when the singer discovers his lover dead by her own hand - with one of his more depressing tracks playing on her stereo.

its about a love that has run its course. Both lovers know that love has been and gone but they cant admit it to themselves or each other. the guy is willing to stay with her possibly a child sweetheart, but wants her to commit in return. if thats not the cas he says they should go their sepperate ways - obvious bit, now the complicated bit. the whole candle in the cold november rain thing, that an all or nothing clause. ie if were lovers we love. if not then we just end contact altogether. the passion there seems so strong that pretending to be friends while feelings are about (the rain) will just destroy everything. its an ultimatum of a love song. real nice one too. well thats my 2 cents

at first i thought the song was about a couple struggling to make it through the hard times and eventually making it, but now im starting to have mixed thoughts. It could be about one of them dying and going through the pain, but the pain wont last 4ever like the coldnov rain. You know if Axl wrote the song after the poem then it must kinda go along w/it.(WHICH WOULD ALSO MATCH THE VIDEO). I have found that if you think about to long you will end up losing the true meaning. IT DOSENT REALLY MATTER WHAT THE SONG REALLY MEANS JUST TAKE IT LIKE YOU TAKE IT. ITS JUST AN AWSOME SONG.

So beutiful, a song that has stood the test of time. Great song, every bit of it.. great video, yet confusing I think thats a major appeal to it. THis song pulls you in from the start and never lets go, fuckin amazing and brillient. and that buildup before the amazing solo holy shit.

So for her to forget about all the doubt and all the bad things becouse he dosn't care aslong as she loves him. That they can still be happy becous nothing last forever not even these problems that they are having right now.)

An incredible, timeless classic!! I love this song so much. I will always love it. This song is very sad, haunting yet beautiful. Musically and lyrically - just phenomenal!! Guns n roses are amazing, axl is a genius. I think almost everyone would be able to relate to this song to a certain extent. Sometimes life can be like the cold november rain. And its so true how it's hard to hold a candle in the rain. Wow.. such amazing words. The video clip is so tragic.. i cant get over it. Its hard to watch a lot. I think this song is about trying to work things out with someone. Its a couple and one is trying to brake it off but the other one is trying to keep it together, knowing that they love each other. Or not..Thats where "And We Both Know Hearts Can Change." But He still loves her very much..that I know. And in the end it saids "Everybody needs somebody. You're Not the only one" I think this means that Hes telling her that he needs her and even though she might be needing someone else?? lol. All i know is that this song kicks ass! I dedicted this song to my ex. In this situation He's the one I need.

This song is basically about how love can be destroyed in one single blow as can be seen in the video. Notice it is a soft, nice kind of rock ballad during the wedding, and suddenly turns into a mournful, merciless tune of sorrow as Axl's wife can be seen in a coffin. The rain finally comes and ruins the wedding, the wife is somehow dead, and people are fleeing the church as though a bomb is about to go off. It shows that love can in turn cause unimaginable suffering when it is lost, and fate is a thing that can't be toyed with. There is always sorrow in the world, and a world without sorrow will never exist because of the constant loss of those around you. The stronger love becomes, the harder it can fall. Love is only an emotion,though one of the strongest, any emotion can fade away.....

I have always loved this song, there is so much depth and the riseing surging passion is a mirror of how life can be. Strange how the lyrics kinda apply to me now though. :(
My last relationship ended really badly, didn't see it coming, I was completely, utterly in love and was devestated when it ended. Felt like someone had taken a sledghammer to my soul.
I've now meet this really great guy and know he would do anything for me. Can't seem to let him in close though, still too much pain.
