i like interpreting lyrics as they apply to me. i believe it is about two people in love that want to (eventually) be together, but know it is not the right time due to things going on in their life. maybe they are occupyed with other things where they need to take time off from each other before they can have such a "strong" relationship. It's such a beautiful, and truthful song that many can relate to.

i think its obvious what the song means some peole say that the video is wierd but the both tell the same story of a man and a woman who fall in love get married but unfortunately she dies youg hence the lyrics nothing lasts forever he says they both know hearts can change but he didn't expect her to die so youn and so fresh into there marriage thats why he says its like a flame in the cold november rain as the flame would go out very quickly just like there relationship if you agree or disagree with me e-mail me at philmck2004@yahoo.co.uk

I love this song so much. I want it played at my wedding. It makes me feel sad and happy all at once. It's by far my favorite GNR song. Axl has a beautiful voice.

This song is fucking amazing! Slash's guitar solo at the end is so powerful. I love the orchestra in the beginning and the lyrics are beautiful. I love the lines" it's hard to hold a candle in the cold November rain. It really makes you think that sometimes the odds are against you, but you can always 'find a way.' Great message. I always remember this music video when Slash is about to do his solo at the end, and he bursts out of the church; the doors fly open, his shirt flies open, and he just rips the shit out of that guitar! Absolutely amazing!

ThunderBolt! Go to vh1.com and type guns n roses in the artists thing..you can watch the video!! it isn't a whole lot, but at least you'll see some of it. I love this song. It is so much more relaxed then welcome to the jungle (I'm not saying welcome to the jungle is a bad song!!..it's just a different mood)..it's good to know that even hard rock can take a break and fit to your relaxed mood, isn't it?

no stephi, i was not bored by your long insight of the lyrics meaning. it really helped me understand the song..though i don't think it matters if you understand it because the guitar solos are enough to make this song #1 of all charts--but thanks anyway stephi

What about...loving someone, but being afraid to love them. Needing time to figure out your life, while the other sits there, and waits. Always there for the person who is thinking over this love. Hoping they won't have to go home, alone. I think that's what the November Rain stands for, lonliness. But you never know.

You wona love somebody but they just keep pushin u away and it leaves you feelin worn out but u keep tryin cos "everybody needs somebody", dats wot it seems to mean from da words anyway but if u see da vid it takes on a different meanings which is sayin life's too short.
This song makes me cry everytime i hear it but the ending is positive and cheers me up!

This is song was based on the short story called without you by Del James, i beliebe in this story there a a girl and her rock star husband and she catches him cheating on her and shoots herself dead, thats how she died in the video.
This is my favourite fukin song in the world i love it so much, the lyrics are just so meaningful, and i think one of the backing vocalist is someone from another band.
The video is really weird but kinda makes sense if u know alot of supersticous things like wine spilling on a wedding table means bad luck i think.

I love the video, especially when the bride throws her bouqet and as it spins through the air the roses turn red and it lands on a coffin and later the roses bleed back to white. That's just beautiful.
Pity the band fell apart soon after ...

This is probably one of the best songs on my list. I think it's about his girlfriend wanting to breakup or getting tired with him. He's saying that he understands that sometimes people need time on there own. He has the broken heart and says that she can heal it and with time he can bring back that charm she once saw in him.... I THINK.. basically she doesn't want him and he still wants her.

I think this song is about how love can be harsh and how it can hurt. This song is so awesome. Tthe ending is so cool, I learned how to play some of the end solo on guitar, and I like the part where it goes from fret 20 to 15, then 16 on b, then back to 15 then 16. If you know the tab for it you'll know what I'm talking about

This is song was based on the short story called without you by Del James, the story is about a girl and her rock star botfriend and she catches him cheating on her. There is one song he wrote about their relationship and as he's at her apt trying to convince her to take him back, he hears this song playing over and over and she shoots herself to death. He breaks down the door and finds he body, he then goes home, totally fucks himself up on drugs and liquor and starts to play his guitar. A burning cigarette starts a fire and he never stops playing even as he burns to death in the blaze.

I love this song! I never get tired of listening to it! For me the beauty of this song is that there remains a hint of hope, that the person will return, Its 1 of the best sad love song. Isnt Slash FIT?! x
