this song wasnt made to advertise their stuff, November rain held the brunt of pretty much what axl thought was gr8, but he soon changed his mind as he kept writing the album: go read the articles at www.heretodaygonetohell.com. I think they wrote the song around the time of appetite and each version they did was gr8.

this is an awesome song, the first time i heard it i cryed and couldnt get enough of it. I love that shannon hoon has vocals in it and also was in the video. gnr rocks and this song is one of my all time favs by far

this song is probably my favorite gnr song. it was the first song they ever wrote together as a band. axl was ready to kill himself and he wanted to write about it to let his girlfriend know that he and she would be okay

i think this song is about death. it's someone saying goodbye for the last time to someone he loves very much. he seems to be consoling her through the loss she is going through. i love the line "please remember, that i never lied." "give me a kiss before you tell me goodbye." "you'll feel better tomorrow." nice lines for a beautiful song. probably my fav GNR song.

I rekon this song is bout.. um like something happend between this couple .. and they both still love each other but they know they cant be together or something.. alos AXL ROSE WAS A HOTTIE!!! and so were everyone else.. My interpretation of this song was that Axl wrote it about the fact that he got a woman "knocked up" and this was his way of consoling her.

The lines "I know how you feel inside, I've been there before. Something is changing inside you and don't you know?" is describing the person talking about the fact that they have knocked the girl up and this is not necessarily the first time its happened.

Later on in the song, this person is talking about "give me a kiss before you tell me good bye". This is so because the guy is dumping the girl and her problems (telling her that she can "make it her own way, but you'll be all right now sugar"), but making known that he still cares for her and her situation and trying to console her.

All in all, a groupie who accidentally got knocked up and wanted some sort of recognition from the "protagonist" in the song, slightly getting it, but still having to face the cold hard reality of a spurned love and a mouth to feed on the way.

Just my interpretation...

BTW, I am a big GNR fan, so this is not to cheapen this song for anyone else or render it meaningless.

2 people who have been in an intense relationship realise they have to go their seperate ways because that special feeling has died. One of the couple is saying how he understands and is prepare to let the other person go despite how strongly he feels about them. It is a very powerful song and most people can relate to it.

Lester - that's pretty dumb. you think people will hate you for saying that becasue they're brainless fans, but it's just becasue what you said made no sense. How can a SONG be advertising? If a song is good, people will listen to it, plain and simple. It's like advertising a car by actually SELLING the best car in the world.

This song was the first track written by Guns n Roses, for Guns n Roses as we know it, i.e. Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy, Duff and Steven.
It was written about a girl both Axl and Izzy had dated, Izzy first then Axl a short time afterwards. And when Axl and the chick broke up, he broke down crying and she kept sayng to him "Don't Cry...Don't Cry". The next day, Axl and Izzy got together and wrote the song in like an hour.
The alternate lyrics came about as Axl was recording the track he could "hear" these other words coming through in his head, and yelled at the manager to record this, got the band to play on, and sang his alternate lyrics. A little fine tuning and voila! there were two versions.

As for whoever said this song was advertising, I really don't agree, every Guns n Roses song has a life meaning to it. You can't disregard the bands emotions and feelings as advertising, because thats what their songs are, their emotions and deep feelings coming out through music.
