i love this song the killer guitar and the great lyrics.
from the intro it captures you and then becomes a rock anthem with slash pushing his les paul to the limits and when it gets to the whole "where do we go nows"s my head bloody explodes

Slash is so freakin' amazing! He was just messing around in the studio one day, and started playing the intro, and Axl loved it, and the rest is history. Great song, but not my favorite of GN'R. They have much better stuff, imo.

to me i think of a man who is meeting an old girlfreind(or crush, say 3rd grade) and hes remembering all the great things about her. then he gets this feeling of nostalgia, that makes him wonder where hes going in life and if he should do something(say, hook up wiht her).

Slash had the riff from this song long before Guns n' Roses, it was a guitar exercise he had made up just to keep his fingers limber. It sounds almost like carnival music, like at an old amusement park. So, one day the band is in this shitty house writing songs and Axl and Duff are arguing about something, and Slash plays this carnival music to be funny, and Izzy starts strumming F and D chords behind it, and everyone loved it, except Slash. He hated that song until when they started playing it live and he saw how much the fans loved it. I read that in a magazine interview with Slash, I think it was in Guitar Player Magazine, I forget. Oh, the lyrics are about being in love with a girl. Probably.

its a song about his first wife erin everly - daughter of one of the everly brothers. a lovefull teenage romance basically. it didnt work out though. possibly november rain reflects the out come of this relationship

yo pheonix, sheryl crowe sucks! i hate that girly crap. i am a girl and i hate that girly crap. Guns did it metal, the way it should be done. I love this song. its my theme song. its sweet and innocent with an attitude, like me. she makes him feel like a kid again, feel safe and free and careless. thats what great relationships are all about, that basic instinct that you love somebody with all your heart and soul like children have. They know without a doubt that they love you. Where do we go from here means to me that ok, you have that instinct of love. Now how do we turn it into something that will last forever. its a beautiful thing. and the guitar makes me breathe a sigh of relief everytime i hear it. like ok everythings gonna be fine.

I think the song was written about Erin and obviously she reminded him of his carefree childhood. What ever the case the guy really loved this girl. I am only 24 and I still listen to this song it will never go out of style.
