LOL....i believe that the lyrics were written on a pizza box. Wouldn't call myself a GNR fan, but this song is awesome. I could listen to the guitar for hours. Who needs the lyrics. But since people want song meanings, I agree with the people who say that Axl wrote this song for his girlfriend who made him feel like a child at heart, and yadda yadda yadda. Great song though. :)

i like lester's interpretation on this. the ending sounds like it can be about confusion, whether it is him on the outside looking in on himself, or him thinking about a relationship that fell apart.

ok this song started out with slash messin around on his guitar and came up with a joke riff that sounded like a "circus" type theme... Axl and the band liked the riff and Axle wrote the song about his girlfriend Erin Everly er whatever her name is.
(I watched the GNR interview thing on VH1, twice, proving i have no life, plus i recorded it, adding to that fact)
this is one of the greatest GNR songs EVER.
GNR RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i found it odd that in all these no1 mentioned the fact that slash HATED this song i think it was bcuz he hated erin not 2 shur thou but just thought all th fans mite wanna no dat 1 cuz itz interestin that slash wood hate the guitar solo dat wood make da best guiterest (i no i spelt that rong) in da world remembered
