Lyrics for Revolution as interpreted by flashflatliner

Revolution Lyrics
Tonight
It's revolution
Tonight
We're going to war, we're going to war, we're going
Tonight
You better make a decision
Tonight
We're going to war, we're going to war

I'm not a partriot
I'm not illegal
I'm not a fugitive
I'm an American

I think you need some education
I think you need some thought control
Tonight
There is a situation
Tonight
It's the end of the world, it's the end of the world, it's the end of
Tonight
We take control of the nation
Tonight
We take control of the world

I'm not a patriot
I'm not illegal
I'm not a fugitive
I'm an American

I'm not a patriot
I'm not illegal
I'm not a fugitive
I'm an American

come lets crush these weak defenses
lets all lose out self-control
we will fight the false pretenses
and break the arm that has the a hold
lets crush the opposition
and let us not do what we're told
we can kill the competition
and break the face off of the mold

I'm not a patriot
I'm not illegal
I'm not a fugitive
I'm an American, I'm an American

I'm not a patriot
I'm not illegal
I'm not a fugitive
I'm an American

I'm an American
I'm an American

I think you need some education
I think you need some thought control

"We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control" - Pink Floyd.

(Just thought I'd post that incase some strange people have never heard that song...)

That Pink Floyd reference had never occurred to me, somehow. That's interesting.

Political. Duh.

This is one of thier unreleased tracks. So technically you're not supposed to have it...and yet, we all do.

I love this song. The guitars are awesome. They said they didn't put it on the record because "people take things too literally."

Well I don't have it. I used to be able to find it on their myspace, but now that their new cd is out I can't anymore. Is there any way besides Limewire or Napster that I can get this song?

The lyrics to Revolution are intentionally vague in the chorus, blurring the line between what it is to be an American, and to be unAmerican.

But it's not until the subtlety is gone that the revolution will have finally begun.

yeh i agree the lyrics are wrong i think rabbithowl makes a good point with the blurring between being an american and un-american. i just think it's a kick ass song for when you're pissed off at politics/politicians!

the song was never released because of September 11th. They felt it was too soon it was just something they needed to write. i see nothing wrong with the song really. it has a really good beat to it. its a great workout song.

and sorry didnt mean to reply the lyrics, but anyway :

Tonight, it's a revolution (revolution)
Tonight, we're going to war (we're going to war)
Tonight, you better make a decision(decision)
Tonight, we're going to war (we're going to war)

I'm not a patriot
I'm not illegal
I'm not a fugitive
I'm an American
I'm an American

I think you need some education
I think you need some thought control

Tonight, there is a situation (situation)
Tonight, it's the end of the world (end of the world)(its the end of ...)
Tonight, we'll take control of the nation (nation)
Tonight, we take control of the world (we take control of the world)

I'm not a patriot
I'm not illegal
I'm not a fugitive
I'm an American
I'm an American

I'm not a patriot
I'm not illegal
I'm not a fugitive
I'm an American

Come let's crush these weak defenses
Let’s all lose our self-control
We will fight the false pretenses
And break the arm that has a hold

And break the face off of the mold
