i saw them on monday... amazing. this is such a good song. i can't wait until they go on tour with incubus. and all the guys in the band are totally down to earth and nice. honestly i thought they'd suck cause jared leto's the lead singer, but ther blew me away.

since jared leto is the singer and he's done acting, i think its about him like wanting to "run and hide and tear myself and start again with a brand new name" - as awake and dreaming said (by the way i love finger eleven) they thoiught it'd suck coz of who he is - i mean all the actors that try to do music or vica versa suck... so you can see why he'd want to keep it under wraps and have people see him for something else - i was blown away to find out he was in acting - i've been listening to 30 seconds to mars for a few months and they have incredible music... that he can act and do music and wants to keep it kinda quiet jsut makes it all the more incredible

What a great song, what a great band, this is something enw in different which we need badly in rock today and well music today because over the last few years there's been very few new and inovative bands to spring up and I'm glad this band has come along. THey remind me of a band called templar. Also a great band trying to break away from various record selling formulas.

Well i too thopught that with lead singer jared leto this band was gunna suck. But he has an azmaing voice and a band that rocks. Unlike most actors turn musicians he i think fits right into rocks finest of the 21st century, among lead singers

i just saw the video and hadnt heard the song yet either, i think these guys rock! i always thought jared leto couldve done something musically since he had a great voice in My So Called Life, but i had no idea it would be this good! i am very surprised and enjoy what i'm hearing from them...

I loved this song before I knew anything about the band.....I got the chance to see them live last night...they were awesome....I can't wait to get the pics back.....and the fact that they stayed to sign for everyone was awesome....I'm ready to see them again.....

i saw them at the incubus concert 9/20/02 !! they kicked ass and i got to meet with band and got an autographed cd !! they're real cool guys and they sound GREAT !! cant wait to develop my pics : ]

I think this song has incredible dynamics. I love the way the part that begins with "so i run..." the second to last time, sounds.

I'm not exactly sure what this song means, but i think it has something to do with coming across as you intended. In other words, it's hard to say what you mean and have people understand that as well. I think the person in song is just so tired of being misunderstood and coming across as unclear. It might also be saying that nobody can ever come across completely clear and the closest you can get is still a little unclear. This is just what I've got from this song, but i could be wrong...

I saw them the other day with Incubus, and have been listening to them for a few months since i read a review in Alternative Press. I've always loved his acting since My So Called Life and Requiem For A Dream... and when i heard his band and his voice and his lyrics i was amazed. I didnt think someone could be so good at both creating art and acting. He's definitely one of those people... not to mention the most gorgeous creature to walk the earth...

First off i would like to say this damn kicks ass hands down or up. Can't wait to see them! Aight this is what i think the song means. I think that Jared Leto is trying to show the world that he has telent and can sing as well as act. "So I run, hide and tear myself up" is like when he was thinking of taking a break from his acting career and pursue a singing career with a band. It tore him up thinking if he should or not. "I'll start again with a brand new name" Jared is saying that he starting his brand new life/career with his new profround name 30 Seconds to Mars. "And eyes that see into infinity" he sees an endless opportunity for him to become better and broaden his range of skills other than just acting. "I will disappear" that is when he started to write his music and disappeared from the acting sceen. "I told you once and I'll say it again" before when Jared said he would be making an album many were sceptical of his abilities to produce a good sounding record and he's saying that I did what I was set out to do. "I want my message read clear" he wants to people to know that his band is here and here to stay and to all the people that thought it was going to suck that they really have talent and can write good music. "I'll show you the way, the way I'm going" he wants to show the world the type of music 30STM writes and sings and wants people to follow in the liking of this type of music. "I was almost there, Just a moment away from becoming unclear, Ever get the feeling you're gone" maybe before when Jared was thinking of writing this album that we was very doubtful of the outcome and didn't know if he should go through it. It's quite obvious Jared is writing from the point of view of a black man (commonly referred to as Nigger, Negro, Shadow People, NASTY etc).

He's running from the cops and hides in some bushes. Little does he know that they're thorns, which results in many cuts.

He's telling us how it get's dark, and he can hide in the darkness. I just hope he remembers to close his eyes and keep his mouth shut.
