My undertanding of this song was always that his girlfriend had run off and left him and he was just making excuses, trying to convince himself that there was some other reason why she hadn't come back.

i think its about the impact that hate-filled people like members of the KKK have on other peoples lives. it is a very good song, but on the tribute cd marilyn manson covered it, and his version butchered this song so badly that i could've cried, almost all the covers on that cd suck harshly

They did I Wanna Be Sedated. I actually liked a lot of the songs off of it. KISS's version of "Do You Remember Rock'N Roll Radio?" was great. And I really liked Green Day's cover of "Outsider".

It's about how his girlfriend has gone on holiday and not come back and he is making up reasons about what might have happened, when really she has just left him. It has nothing to do with the KKK or racism or anything like that.
