althought this song is not original, as it was originally done by the Ronettes, it is one of very few songs which i actually prefer done by the ones who copied it. The voice and music are both superb for this song. i first heard it on an advert here in the UK for the yellow pages about this boy with glassed growing up and eventually getting married, etc. does anybody remember that??? its in my top20 songs ever and is definately one of the best love songs ever written i think

I remember the Yellow Pages advert. Probably the 1st time I heard this. I LOVE it so much I had it as my wedding song. If you're looking for a wedding song then you'll find none better. The whole wedding party clapped along with the entire song as we danced to this and I thought my heart would burst with happiness. Much better than the usual 'slow' love songs for wedding. When I listen to it now I always cry. It's such a simple song and it's perfect!

The first time I heard this song I was really young and my brother was big into the ramones and he played it to me and just recently I bought their anthology album which totally rocks and I rediscovered the song it came as a big shock to me when i discovered it was the ramones singin it but it sounds so sweet and I think it is definetly way better than the original

Johnny once said that recording this song the way they did was the biggest mistake the Ramones ever did. I agree with him. This doesn't even sound like the Ramones.

love iy. it sucks that the ramones never made it big, an were always over looked, when bands like the clash and sex pistols were huge and were first inspired by the ramones. I love them. so orignal and raw.

People calling this "the greatest love song ever" need to start listening to somethign other than punk. This is a good song, but the best? No way.
