I think it's pretty obvious that this is just mocking the stuff that's on the charts for being meaningless, redundant and full of crap and cliches.

Shame how little's changed in 20 years.

I have to agree with the 1st opinion here. They do a pretty good job of letting you know how fed up they are with bland, pop, plastic, chart topping music.
