Strawberry Fields Forever

It was written during an acid trip. Apparently it's a safe place he remember when we was young. If I remember right it was a field by his house with a fence the Salvation Army.

This is a pretty personal song. He doesn't show a lot and I don't know if he was having a bad trip, I doubt that. Lennon was able to do psychedelics. I think it's more just in a reflective state of mind and remembering how that was a safe place and now being an adult he doesn't have a place like that anymore. So yea that's how it's personal. It's not just some love song or whatever not to knock the Beatles. I'm just saying this is about as personal as Lennon will get, in his own trippy unique way.

I tripped to Sgt. Peppers once. I feel like you don't choose if it's a music trip or not. But I enjoyed Sgt. Peppers. Having done almost every pscadelic drug except peyote (unless mescaline is synthesized peote) I'm not sure if I would enjoy this song tripping. Having done psychedelics I hear it and I think this is psychedelic but just might not be my first choice. I was listening to A Go Go the other day and realized how much of a role acid had in that album. Really good trip but I was doing it too much. Had a ton of really good trips I just don't think it's good to drop acid all the time so I'm taking a break for a while.
