Where Are You Going? (Busted Stuff versi... Lyrics
Where are you going?
With the long face pullin' down
Don't hide away
Like an ocean
Which you can't see but you can
Smell and the sound of waves crash down

I am no Superman
I have no reasons for you
I am no hero, oh, that's for sure
But I do know one thing
It's where you are is where I belong
I do know where you go is where I wanna be

Where are you going?
Where do you go?
Are you lookin' for answers
To questions under the stars
And if along the way
You are growing weary
You can rest with me until a brighter day, you're okay

I am no Superman
I have no answers for you
I am no hero, oh, that's for sure
But I do know one thing
Where you are is where I belong
I do know where you go is where I wanna be

Where are you going?
Where do you go?

Where do you go?
Where are you going?
Where do you go?

I am no Superman
I have no answers for you
I am no hero, oh, that's for sure
But I do know one thing
Is where you are is where I belong
I do know where you go is where I wanna be

Where are you going?
Where do you go?
Tell me where are you going?
Where...
Let's go

hahah....the difference is that dave alone himself is more talented then those bands....now the dave matthews band is like 5 talented bands themselves combined into one....they're so talented its amazing....try getting amazing sounds of the violin and sax from incubus and ...waste my breathe....thursday....

If you didn't realize... the whole reason I am pissed about them selling out is because I used to like them. So obviously I used to love hearing the "amazing sounds of the violin and sax" I know Dave is talented, which is why I am pissed he is trying to appeal to more people for the purpose of money writing garbage. Dave selling out is not very talented if you ask me. And the whole purpose of saying anything about Thursday or Incubus was to show you the depth of their lyrics...not the music which by the way is a whole different genre.

Well usually when someone compares lyrics ....you're comparing the whole music as well....because the lyrics need the music and vise versa.....but anyways...i agree with you on writing money garbage whenever they made "everyday" but everybody has a slump...now i think they're doing it just for the music despite what the public says....unlike other bands...

It's funny you say "try getting amazing sounds of the violin and sax from incubus and...waste my breath...thursday..." because Dave Matthews and bands like Thursday and Incubus are in different genres. I'm not a big hardcore Dave fan so I don't know their names or every song or whatever but I'd like to see the guy who plays the violin try to play a guitar or the guy who plays the sax play drums...you might think it sounds better because of the instrument but its just a matter of preference...but I liked them enough to know that they USED to be good.

Every great band doesn't just stick with the same damn shit all the time.....bands need variety in their music or they would have nothing to write about because they already used it all....change is good....luckily dmb changes and still sounds the same (except everyday).....but new as well.....and manages not to sell out...

Selling out is not a slump...it was a conscious choice on their part. But now you say they're doing it just for the music again... but isn't it true that they wrote these songs before they released Everyday? Correct me if I'm wrong because like I said I'm not a big hardcore Dave fan. And what does "unlike some other bands" mean? Who are you referring to?

I'm refering to your shit bands that sell out....The Honda Tour....come'on your blind.....yes but Where are You Going and You Never Know were made after everyday....and they don't sound anything like everyday because they're acoustic guitar song....not eletric....thats why everyone was disappointed....because they used electric guitaring...and everyone loves these new songs....so my point oncea gain was everyday was a fluke...

Incubus has put out 5 albums already... and if you check out the music... you will see that they don't stick to "the same damn shit" all the time. Some songs are funky as hell, some are mellow, and some are hard. On "Aqueous Transmission" they used some sort of Chinese instrument. How can you say they manage not to sell out considering all of the endorsement deals and shit they do now?

They sell out because they made those deals.....dave has made nothing of the sort....and for the record dmb put out 9 albums...and it sounds the same....but doesn't sound the same...if you know wah i mean

Incubus sold out their image but I don't hear them trying to make up Miller Light commercials. Dave sold out both...they sold out their music because it sucks right now and they sing gay commercials but appeals to people who don't know music.. and their image by appearing in teen magazines. DMB put out 9 albums two are shitty thats 7 now and how many live cds did they put out? Once again they are just trying to get more money but reselling old material.

If you were a dave fan you would know they always jam out at they're concerts....so therefore its not the same shit.....and doen't sound like the recording....and only 1 album has sucked....and 2 were live....now if you could do the math oh thats still one more than incubus.....mm yeah so why dont you just shut up.....

All in due time my friend, all in due time. Incubus hasn't been around as long as Dave. Who gives a shit if they jam out at a concert... who doesnt? Any band can put out live shows as a record to get money and loyal fans will buy it. It's funny how you said about the sax and violin and how good the music is when you said that Dave used electric guitars when he sold out. Hmm... come on Dave make up your mind buddy.

I was talking about how all they're albums with the sax and violin were great and everyday didn't use the sax and violin that much compared to past albums....if you would actually listen to dave instead of licking you're grundle....so my point proven once again....you were just too busy ranting about how gay incubus is...

I don't know what everyone else thinks this is about, or if it's really about something else that Dave had in mind while writing it, but I know what it means to me. To me it's about someone who has a lot of problems in some way, and a lot of questions. It's about that moment when you realize there's nothing you can do to prevent those you love from having bad things happen to them, and that the only thing you can do is be there for them when it does...

its funny how the term "sellout" is thrown around so easily now when talking about so many bands...but if you want to call dave a sellout, maybe you should have made that accusation about 3 or 4 years ago, because afterall by "sellout" dont you mean "making tons of money and being the biggest selling tour in years"?? cause thats exactly what dave is!
His music has changed, no one can deny that, but if you dont change you become a "has been" and you get left behind. Dave Matthews Band is all about evolution, they evolve, they test their musical limits to every different way they can, as an artist you have to. You cant sit there and play the exact same music and still be a band years down the road.
For you to compare them to NSYNC is ridiculous! they are part of a fad, and they will die out, Dave never will, all because Dave is willing to test different genre's. In 2 years NYSNC will be nothing but a horrible memory, while Dave will most likely still be top 3 touring bands out there!
I agree that Dave has changed, maybe not for better, but to say that he hasnt written a good song in years is a lie. Just because you dont like the sound of the music doesnt mean the lyrics arent deep, and amazing just like ever other one of daves songs....so do your homework buddy!
I've been a dave fan since "remember two things" and I own every dave CD that has ever been out, including a burned version of "lillywhite" and I've endured some of the greatest...sweetest...amazing...songs that make up every CD he's put out.
Dave is awesome, I disagreed with his partnership with Ballard, because he made a drastic change to dave's sound, but I would never deem Dave a "sellout" unless I was talkin about any of his concerts in any town he chooses to play (hehe)

wow, another amazing song....Dave must be superhuman or something. i love this song becasue it shows a mans dedication to his girl. Another great song to put on while making love. AmyKate's idea was cool, that's another way to look at it. i certainly hope she's right, to some degree. it's nice to think that dave appreciates us as much as we appreciate him. ~PEACE~

from what I've heard about the meaning to this song...dave said its about a girl (most likely his wife) but of course everyone will have their opinions anyways.

going back to the whole bullshit idea that dave sold out...dave stopped playing the song "spotlight" on purpose. I posted the meaning to the song "spotlight" along with the reason why he stopped.. dave said "i dont want our fans to think we're full of ourselves" so anyone who thinks dave is a sell out should sit on that quote for a while.

I am so glad that Dave went back to playing acoustic on this new album. DMB's sound is just not the same with an electric guitar. I think that Busted Stuff is also a better album lyrically than Everyday was. DMB rocks!!!

Very true that the term "sellout" is tossed around way too much just because bands are receiving recognition. Bands and their styles of music do change as they mature. I wouldn't completely call Dave a sellout, but he is definitely changing with the times and becoming mainstream. "Everyday" was starting to solidify his status as a sellout, but "Busted Stuff" is more like the Dave of old, going back to the tunes that define his music. I hope he's heading back to playing for the love of playing rather than that all too common phrase of "selling out."

After reading Traumattizing's comment; sellout's care about public opinion, people who love what they do and what they play don't care what other people think about their style of music or whatever it is. If you don't like the style of music, then you don't need to buy the cd or be at the concert.

I love this song! no clue why either... it is so sweet... i wish someone would say that to me.... its like he is saying.... I don't care where you go but b/c i love you so much I am going with you....
A good friend of mine sent me the lyrics when i was upset about something..... he probably didnt mean this but this is how i think of it...
'No matter what you are going through I am always with you, where ever you go.... no matter what.' it helped me so much.....
you could even look at it from the point of view of Jesus( or who you believe in, I'm a Christian so God and Jesus are in just about everything I say, do, or hear) and he is saying that no matter what life throws at you i want to be with you through it all, b/c i love you!
