Darling
Darling, when did you fall?
When was it over?
Darling, when
When did you fall?
When was it over?

You can't see my eyes
They don't see yours
They don't see yours

Darling, when did you fall?
When was it over?
Darling, when
When did you fall?
When was it over?

Darling, when did you fall?
When was it over?
Darling, when
When did you fall?
When was it over?

When was it over?

It's the rain that I hear coming
Not a stranger or a ghost
It's the quiet of the storm approaching
That I fear the most
It's the pain that I hear coming
The slightest crystal tear
Drops to the ground in silence
When my love is near
When was it

Darling, when did you fall?
When was it over?
Darling, when did you fall?
When was it over?
Darling, when did you fall?
When was it over?
Darling, when
When did you fall?
When was it over?

Delerium once again can produce absolutely original and haunting lyrics.

It's the rain that I hear coming Not a stranger, not a ghost The quiet of a storm approaching That I fear the most

Whatever the singer is feeling is already well known to her. It is NOT (1) a feeling she has seen in others but never experienced (not a stranger) or (2) a feeling that has abandoned her only to come back again (not a ghost). I believe that this song is reflective, not so much about mourning or sadness. It is pondering the past and she has a feeling of unease about whatever has happened.
