Lyrics for Let me be your armor as interpreted by master01kaine

Let me be your armor Lyrics
Let me take the fall
Let me take the blame
Let me carry you from hell
To home again.

Let me walk for you
When your legs are weak
Let me find the words for you
When you can't speak

CHORUS:
Let me be your armor
Let me be your shield
Let me take away the pain you feel (your armor)
Let me be the light
That guides your way through darkest night
Let me be your armor.

Let me take the blows
That were meant for you
Let me help you with the trials
You're going through

Let me keep you safe
From the world outside
Let me wipe away the tears
That fill your eyes

(CHORUS)

Let me keep you from
Experience you need
Let me bind you with my selfishness
And greed

Let me stifle you
Let me have control
Let me smother
Every aspect of your soul

(CHORUS)

Such a sinister and seductive song. In the beginning, he preaches protection of this other person.. but towards the end, he devours their being altogether..

Seems like he's trying to protect someone or something that's innocent; but then taking it over for himself.

And now for my interpretation. I don't think this song is sinister at all. I imagine he is actually saying these words to a person that he loves. It's about overprotection, and he's trying to convince this other person (a girl for example) that he is holding her back and that she has to live her own life, draw her own conclusions, take responsibility of her own actions, etc.. He is tired of running her errands and that explains the darker tone in the end of the conversation. In a way he is telling her what will happen if nothing changes.

Ah.. the sweet, sweet taste of co-dependency. If you've ever been in or close to a co-dependent relationship (very likely) and recognized it as such (not very likely) then this song holds no ambiguity at all. This is co-dependency at its core. I recognize these attitudes in myself and try not to exhibit them. This song is a good reminder to let go.

I think that this song is very sinister, but loving at the same time.
Like how you have control over everything that happens, but can't help the fact that you want it all for yourself now. (In this case someone you love)

I also have to agree with Tornado. My last relationship was very similar...to the point where i couldnt stand to be around the girl. very good song though.

I think what this song is trying to describe is how ones intensions can change through a relationship or whatever situation this might pertain to. For example, when you feel so strongly about someone, you just want to constanly be with them, know what they are doing, know that they are ok, make sure you do everything you possibly can for them, thus, in doing so you tend to "smother every aspect of thier soul"...i dont think its meant to be sinister, but more a warning to how sinister it may become or seem to the victim of it persay. Ive done exactly what this song describes, but yet never saw it, i couldnt even understand it when it was explained to me by the person whom i acted this song out towards, but after hearing this song, it all made so much more sense. So even with the purest of intensions, the way one tries to show how much they care might not seem so pure in the eyes of the other.

A scenario that expands on the old saying, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." Pure and simple.

I agree with stuff.. This is all about deceiving the person with his good actions, initially.. Then he manipulates the person, takes hold of his/her rights.

I totally agree that it's about overprotecting someone. Aren't there similarities with the song 'Feedback' by Covenant?

What this song describes must be one of the major downsides with socialism, anybody agree?
