I'm walking through your streets
Where all your money's earning
Where all your buildings crying
And clueless neckties working
Revolving fake lawn houses
Housing all your fears
Desensitized by TV

Overbearing advertising
God of consumerism
And all your crooked pictures looking good
Mirrorism, filtering information for the public eye
Designed for profiteering.
Your neighbor, what a guy

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop the bomb
You kill the god your child has born
Boom, Boom, Boom,

Modern globalization
Coupled with condemnations
Unnecessary death
Matador corporations
Puppeting your frustrations with the blinded flag
Manufacturing Consent is the name of the game
The bottom line is money, nobody gives a fuck

4000 hungry children
Leave us per hour from starvation
While billions are spent on bombs
Creating death showers.

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop the bomb
You kill the god your child has born

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop a bomb
You kill the god your child has born

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop a bomb
You kill the god your child has born

Why must we kill our own kind?

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop a bomb
You kill the god your child has born

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop the bomb
You kill the god your child has born

Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom
Every time you drop the bomb

General Comment:It's an anti-war song, with a video fairly specific to the Iraq war. That's how I was first introduced to SOAD. Some forwarded me the video because of its anti-war message.

Anyway, the "every time you drop the bomb, you kill the god your child has born" always confused me - I don't know what that one means specifically. It's not hard to interpret the main point of SOAD's lyrics because most of their songs are either about the Armenian genocide or just anti-war in general. But teasing out specific meanings of individual lines or verses is a lot more difficult.

General Comment:this is one of my fav system songs.

About how pointless man-kind is. the two strongest lines are:

"4000 hungry children Leave us per hour from starvation While billions are spent on bombs
    Creating death showers"
    but the strongest,
"Why must we kill our own child?"

General Comment:Alright, i was just thinking... Overbearing advertising god of consumers, And all your crooked pictures looking good, Mirrors filtering information through the public eye, Designed for profit sharing,Your neighbor, what a guy.... Really Corporate Commercialism.... This song is about the things our system hides from us, They FILTER out information that they don't want us to know... TV shows that say they live, they are but its not a LIVe experience they have planned out everything thats going to happen, but you think you have just gone through an experience. The best example is Disney World... think about is happyest place in the world... no everything that happens is planned to happen... or the news... we all know it.. we don't know everything we should know.

General Comment:Quoted - I live in the USA but I think it's pathetic. I think it's pathetic how they're willing to dick around with other countries' business yet they can't their own. Thats basically what the song is saying. - end quoting

This is kind of an ignorant comment. This is only true when a Republican is in office, as in post WWI republicans, they are more interested in foreign affairs than homeland affairs. When a Democrat is in office, its the exact opposite, Homeland is more important than Foreign affairs. This is what is fucked up, the priorities of each party, there needs to be a happy medium. USA is fucking awesome, we have way more freedom than the rest of the world.

People always talk about us being ignorant or distracted by the media, but the truth is, if you have a few brain cells, you could avoid this.

I agree our politicians are fucked up, but our country is great.

9/11 happened because Clinton didn't do enough when he was dealing with Osama; however, Bush took advantage of the situation to take care of his daddy's un-finished business. Plus, he gets the added bonus of some oil for his vice presidents former employer.

It was no one person's fault, although everyone likes to try and point the finger at just one person.

Ok, I am done, and by the way, no need to use foul language as much as some of you have, calm down before posting.
