I think he's more making fun of the grunge trend, where the general sentiment was "I'm a loser, etc."

PS: Beck is not stupid now. Odelay is his best album, and although midnight vultures was a little disappointing, it's still good.

Beck recorded himself playing slide guitar on a four track for about an hour. Then the guy he was working with Took part of the noodling and added a drum loop that became the main riff we know and love.

Beck then started rapping stupidly on top of the looped guitar riff, completely improvising. He was so embarrassed at the lyrics that he'd come up with that he just started singing 'I'm a Loser baby' in the chorus.

why is this here, this song has no meaning, its just for fun, thats why it doesnt follow a single thing, it just jumps around. Its still one of the best songs I've heard though.

beck has put out 3 straight PERFECT albums with mutations odelay and midnite vultures, for what he was going for, they were perfect, no filler all killer, and the next one sounds promising

Now I may be taking a shot in the dark here, and tell me if I am, but this is what the last line of the second verse means to ME. Where it says:"And my time is a piece of wax fallin' on a termite
that's chokin' on the splinters" I think that he's talking about his life (his time) and that it's like wax, that it may be perfectly shaped and formed and without blemishes on the outside, but that it can still contain flaws (splinters). The termite thing comes in with his death (fallin') where the termites are eating his wooden coffin. But I don't know what I'm talking about, so there.

If anyone can find anything intelligible out of this, it just proves that people can make up meaning to any song. PseodoDeepMan's interpertation is so freaking deep theres no way its right about this song. Sorry man. But this has to be one of the greatest songs ever, cuz its complete nonsense.

this song means absolutely nothing, but everything at the same time... its obvious that i like the song, but i just wanna say that it can mean anything that you can concieve because it is so briliantly random...
