Just to add, Eon (or possibly Eon Blue, can't remember and it doesn't really say) was the name of Adam's great dane. Apparently he died of cancer, and the song title is a kind of tribute.
This song is filler material. Tool's just going the path of NIN by adding a few instrumental tracks to their CD. Maybe this song is dedicated to someone or something but I don't see how it could really mean anything.

To me it serves as a great intro to The Patient. But there's a certain feel to this song that seperates it from The Patient and makes it clear that it's not a part of the same track. Don't know what it's about though.

I read online somewhere that it means this:
Eon = A long period of time
Blue = A color offten associated with serenity, plainness, bordem
Apocalypse = The end.
So the sond means Long Boring End, perhaps what the fate of humanity will become if something doesnt change. The song is a tribute to Adams great dane but its cool how they most likely didnt intend for the song to have meaning but its possible to apply one to it. Every Tool song no matter how small can have some deep meaning....pure genius.

What about Hooker With A Penis? I think that pretty much sums it up in the title. No hidden meaning there... well... not after you pull the skirt off, anyway. 'Cause then it's like in your face and you wanna throw up and stuff. Nope... no hidden-ness there.

about the song, hobitt420 kind of inspired my idea, i think it means simply rest in peace for his dog eon - rest (apocalypse - end, devestation - about the loss of his dog) in peace (blue - serenity)

if u listen to the patient followed by this song, laying down in the dark not thinking of anything but the music it will make u dizzy. it happened to me twice and my bro.
I can't believe there is only one page for this song, this is the best pre-requisite to The Patient they could have made. It is so beautiful, it does make me think of space the first 30 seconds or so, but that isn't my overall impression. I agree with hobitt420 on this:
"Eon = A long period of time
Blue = A color offten associated with serenity,
plainness, boredom
Apocalypse = The end.
Long Boring End, perhaps what the fate of humanity
will become if something doesn't change."
If you guys are diehard fans like me, I hope to see you there on their next tour. This has got to be one if the highest anticipated albums in the rock industry. We have been waiting a long time. Does anyone else think they can top Lateralus? I hope they can. Oh well, I'll love it anyways. Still, one of their best instrumental songs.

That's a bit wrong actually. It's a very common misconception that the word apocalypse means end or ending. Actually, it means revelation or unvieling.
A serene, ages-long revelation? Kind of makes sense with the rest of the album. Also leads into the patient as well, as patience is described by a long wait, and one can only really be patient if they are calm.

Its not just a good intro to The Patient, I think its also an awesome comedown. The Grudge gets your heart really racing, and Eon Blue Apocalypse is an almost post-coital calm after the storm. Beautiful!
