    My Interpretation:She comes home after a long and exhausting day, from the events of laying to rest, the most beautiful part of her life. Sitting in front of the fire, feeling sad, and finally, the long day is over. The wind has gone because her love no longer has the breath of life in him. Her love has passed away. She couldn't sleep for thinking of him, the memories of him, the love they shared, and finally fell asleep at dawn. The embers of a great love will always burn for him and no one else. There is no reprise, no restoring, no bringing back to her what she will always want and need. It will never be the same without him. But, the sun will rise, and life will go on. The long, sad, and tearful day is finally over.
    Think about this and think while you are alone and it is quiet. Picture it.

    General Comment:A reprise is the repeating of something that happened before, so "with no reprise" definitely means that something has ended. It could mean a troubled relationship hasn't survived to see the next day, or that someone has passed away after a long fight and she is grieving, but she realizes that life will go on. I choose to think it's the latter.

    General Comment:I love listening to it knowing that a bad day can't go on for much longer. Sipping hot tea and appreciating the few 146 seconds of peace this song has to offer.

    General Comment:I haven't a different take on this song. I think it's about 2 people who finally get together after a long time, after they have been fighting with each other "the wind is gone" but deep down really love each other "the embers burn on"....

    General Comment:I used to listen to this song all the time a couple years ago, but completely forgot about it until today. I had a really long day, and all of a sudden starting humming this song - I didn't even realize at first. It definitely calmed me down; I think I'll be listening to it a lot more now.

    General Comment:i listen to this song after i've had a horrible depressing day, and it seems to just make me feel so much better. i love how her songs are about such simple beautiful things in life like the end of a long day. it's amazing that this song is only a few lines long but seems so much longer.

    its about how we..make those days..with our mood..
    its us..who decide..what kinda day we're gonna have..
    so i guess..its depressive..sad and really beutiful..cuz it holds hope within...

    i know for sure..

    this is a beautiful song..kinda short and really simple.gorgeous...but it just gets u..
