Oh please don't go out on me don't go out on me now
Never acted up before don't go on me now
I swear I never took it for granted just thought of it now
Suppose I abused you just passing it on
Go, fuck

Once fastened servile now your getting sharp
Moving oh so swiftly with such disarm
I pulled the covers over him shoulda' pulled the alarm
Turned to my nemesis a fool no fucking god
No, time, suck, my, please,
Don't go on me
Please

Suck, blood, touch, please, tunnel vision, tuck, time, see,
Please, please, please,
Don't go on me

Please, Don't you want me, don't go on me,
Please, don't go on me

General Comment:Author of these lyrics looked too much into Ed's screaming. He probably didnt really say much of that. :P

My Interpretation:It sounds to me like it's from the perspective of an abuser screaming at his victim who's trying to leave him.
He's trying to convince her that he's not taking her for granted... all the while threatening her and shit.

And, yeah, it's also probably on some level about Eddie Vedder's car.

General Comment:Pleases note the Wikipedia quotes, below:

In Kim Neely's book Five Against One: The Pearl Jam Story, Abbruzzese quips that vocalist Eddie Vedder told him he wrote the lyrics for "Go" about his pickup truck.[5] This may be a clever joke on the chorus of the song "Please don't go on me," but the full lyrics of the song suggest it is of a much more serious nature.

(^ The serious nature of the song is also suggested by the cover-art on the Go single, which features a rather freaky-looking circus clown - definitely NOT a truck!)

"Go" was first performed live at the band's May 13, 1993 concert in San Francisco, California at Slim's Café.[8] On April 3, 1994 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Fox Theatre, Vedder dedicated a live version of the song to Kurt Cobain shortly after the former Nirvana frontman had nearly died as a result of overdosing on alcohol and Rohypnol while on tour in Rome in March 1994.

(Thus, I tend to believe the song was definitely written as a plea for someone close to the band/Eddie to try to hold it together.)

General Comment:This is about a truck but is commonly mistaken for a song about sex. the line "don't go on me."
When Eddie is saying " don't go out on me" excluding the word "out"

General Comment:Eddie primarily wrote this song about his pickup truck, obviously, but I think we all know that it has a much more serious meaning, too. If I'm not mistaken, as a child, Vedder was sexually abused by his mother, and verbally by his step father, who he always thought was his father...and I think this has a lot to do with that, or just abuse in general, following one of the most prominent topics in Vs...but nobody really knows for sure. Don't be too hard on my take on it- I'm just a stupid teenager. At least I'm listening to this instead of Lil Wayne or something. Eddie's childhood has to do with a LOT of Pearl Jam's songs, which is why I think their songs are so meaningful and profound, to me, anyway. You can seriously feel the emotion, and I can't tell you how many times their songs have given me chills or make me cry. Brilliant band, my favorite. No other band that I've listened to has had songs that make me think as much as Pearl Jam's do, so kudos to them.

General Comment:The first verse is about him getting in his truck and it won't start. The second verse is why he needs it to start he is trying to get away from something he did not see as dangerous at first, something he turned a blind eye to "i pulled the covers over my head i should have pulled the alarm" but is now after him and coming quickly. I think the line is "I turn to my nemesis a full on fucking god" maybe a crazy scorned girlfriend with a gun. and the last verse just seems to be thoughts about his situation flashing in his mind. And to think it all could have been avoided if he had not abused his Truck and done the proper maitenence

General Comment:Guys he wrote it about his truck but every great songwriter can apply the personal story to a broader theme and thats what makes it a great song. the fact that eddie related his truck quitting on him to relationship abuse sparked a needless arguement haha HE DOES THIS SHIT ON PURPOSE. ed's a genius, admit it. And yes he does bullshit the media about songs quite often

General Comment:This tune is all about the last match you have in the house. Your lighter is out of fluid, and you have this one fucking match to spark your J. "Don't go out on me, Don't go on me." "Swear I never took you for granted." The last match in the book. Please, please, please don't go out before I spark. Please.
