Meet The Brick Shithouse
This Is The Brick Shithouse [Repeats]
Meet The Brick Shithouse

Don't you wish you'd never met her? [Repeat: x3]
Lay him down, lie on
Lay him, down
Now your lover went and put me in the ground,
I'll be watching, when he's around.
Now your lover went and put me in the ground,
I'll be watching

Meet the Brick Shithouse,
Kiss the Brick Shithouse,
Meet the Brick Shithouse,
Kiss.

Lay him down, lie on
Lay him, down
Now your lover went and put me in the ground,
I'll be watching, when he's around.
Now your lover went and put me in the ground,
I'll be watching, when he's around

When you cum you never make a single sound,
I'll be watching, when he's around,
When he's around, when he's around,
He's around.

Don't you wish you'd never met her ? [Repeat: x3]

Lay him down, lie on
Lay him, down
Now your lover went and put me in the ground,
I'll be watching, when he's around.
Now your lover went and put me in the ground,
I'll be watching, when he's around

When you cum you never make a single sound,
I'll be watching, when he's around,
When he's around, when he's around,
He's around.

Don't you wish you'd never met her? [Repeat: x3]

General Comment:Just like to add that "Don't you wish you'd never met her" repeated as a bridge in a song is stolen directly from "Dirty Blue Gene" by Captain Beefheart, from the album "Doc at the Radar Station".

    General Comment:Brilliant.
The title is funny, the electronic elements add a nice effect, the drums, the vocals...

General Comment:According to Brian Molko, it's about a disembodied soul floating overhead watching their lover make love to the person who killed them. "About getting to beaten to death", verbatim.

And Deebs is right...."don't you wish you'd never met her" = shoutout to PJ Harvey's "Rid Of Me".

General Comment:Although with my theory, I'm not sure what sense the 'now your lover went and put me in the ground' is in.

General Comment:Brian has said this song is about someone getting beaten to death. the way I interpret it, is some guy (The Brick Shithouse) finds out his wife/girlfriend is having an affair.

She never makes a single sound cos the other guy is providing her with sex. And so her husband is thinking, ok, I'm going to be watching when he's around. And as he's beating the guy to death, he's saying 'don't you wish you never met her?', which is a line Brian borrowed from the PJ Harvey song 'Rid Of Me', which Brian has acknowledged. It is one of his favourite albums ever.

    Although with my theory,

General Comment:Anyone heard the phrase 'Built like a brick shithouse?' It means someone who is very large and muscular. So maybe the brick shithouse in this is a very masculine man.
