    General Comment:Guys this song is so simple. The lines 'Wish you were you here" is a greeting card. People who go on vacations and cruises tend to send these types of greetings. It's a stereotypical message.

    If you ever watch old movies or cartoons, it's the message that is always sent out. "Having a great time in Jamaica, wish you were here bro!". He's on vacation and stating the fun time he's having during it. He's relaxing. Nothing more.

    General Comment:In my head...this song is about a couple that are dating, but they don't live together. I have been down the road myself. Its a common thing in my private life. I date a woman, but we don't live together, and its always hard to say good night.

    My Opinion:i think this song is about how life can be great and beautifull on your own. cuz in song even that "someone" isn't there he is happy.
    but ofc when u have someone to share happiness with life is far better. "i wish you were here" :)

    General Comment:i think this song is about missing someone so much that the only way to be happy without them is to be in a false world or in a "pretend" state of mind. in each verse he talks about being happy when he's pretending. and because the phrase "i wish you were here" is repeated so much makes it seem like its the main thing that the author is focused on similarly to his life.

    General Comment:As long as we look at it on the surface, it's about wanting someone you care about to be with you in this special place that you're visiting. However, when you consider the lyrics "The world's a roller coaster and I am not strapped in/ Maybe I should hold with care but my hands are busy in the air" then it takes on a spiritual interpretation. You are open, free, and careless to the endless burdens of the universe, and maybe you wish that everyone (especially ones you care most about) could be in the state of bliss and enlightenment that you have just begun to experience. Maybe not exactly what was intended by the poet himself, but that's what makes the song beautiful to me.

    General Comment:No lie, this is one of my favorite songs of all time. There's something so magical about it. I think this is as poetic as rock music can get while still being radio-friendly. For a week on vacation at the beach, I would wake up early and watch the ocean while listening to this song wishing my friends were there with me. It's so carefree sounding and just an all-around beautifully constructed song.

    General Comment:i carved in the sand the initials "I.W.Y.W.H." and sent it to my girlfriend when i went on vacation. she knew exactly what it meant and it made her really happy. this song is perfect (along with I Miss You) to play when you're thinking about someone.
