What's the season of love if you can't have everything
What's the reason of love if you can lose everything
What's the meaning of love, it's a crime if anything
What's the meaning of love, it's grand, it's grand

How can a culture can forget it's plan of yesterday
And you swear it's not a trend
Does it matter anyways
Barely heat the top of friend like it moves everyday
You could shit upon the stairs
You'll be friends
You'll be friends
You'll be friends
You'll be friends

All the kids have laid it out
And it's back is probably
Still it's subtle in the tape
Keep a form on equally
Now you know it's just the fact
Where the world is nowadays
And the day is what we learn
Does it matter anyways

General Comment:No offense intended, but that is a very ordinary attempt at an interpretation and that's putting it as nicely as I can. I'm even tempted to think that that is a just a pure guess that you simply made up while thinking of what to type.

Aero Zeppelin was written well before Nirvana were at the height of their fame as it was recorded on their demo tape in 1988, three years before the release of Nevermind. I've noticed that there are a number of people who think this song was recorded in 1992 because that's when Incesticide was released, but that album is an odds-n-sods compilation album that contains material recorded at various times and locations.

If you want a more accurate meaning of this song, you should have a look at some of the earlier comments which mentioned consumerism (albeit in a different context to bombast07's) and how youth can be such sheep and do what everybody else is doing; sadly that problem still exists over 20 years later.

This is my favourite song on Nirvana's ten-song demo tape, and my favourite on Incesticide behind Aneurysm, which some have regarded as better than Smells Like Teen Spirit. Very underrated and it's actually one of the earliest songs of theirs I remember hearing. The descending guitar riff heard throughout this song is unlike anything I've ever heard from any band and that's what makes Nirvana such a special group and what makes Incesticide such an intriguing album. Peace :)

General Comment:Kurt was asked to use one of Nirvana's songs for a Burger King ad at the height of Nirvana's fame. They wanted to unleash an ad campaign targeting the dissatisfied Generation X'ers that were coming of age by stylizing their product as 'edgy' and 'angsty.' Kurt responded by penning 'Aero Zeppelin' instead. He didn't want them to use any of the songs on Nevermind, and opted to give them a different tune. The lyrics address consumerism, specifically what Burger King and other fast food chains were trying to sell. He states that 'all the kids will eat it up if its packaged properly' as a stab at how these corporations can glamorize awful food and sell it to the masses as something 'cool' that everyone is eating. There is also a variation in the same line not mentioned in the above lyrics. Kurt says 'all the kids are eating out,' meaning that this generation is always on the run getting food and not making meals at home the old fashioned way. This hints at the alienation that comes in the modern family, not paying attention to the kids and having the meaningful dinner conversations of previous generations. Fast food retailers capitalize on this flawed familial system and Kurt was sticking it to Burger King by handing them this song for use in their commercials. However, BK rejected Kurt's submission, and reacted bitterly to 'Aero Zeppelin' upon first hearing it.

General Comment:Kurt Cobain once said in an interview that he liked albums that had one great song after another, from beginning to end, and he listed Aerosmith's album "Rocks" as one such record. I'm sorry I don't know where to find this interview since I read it in the early 1990's, but I do remember him saying this because Rocks was one of my favorite records as well.

General Comment:Personally I think the song is talking about how the society at the times the kids weren't going anywhere. They were just going through life buying what they wanted not thinking about what they should and shouldn't do and what they beleive. Also I don't really know what he means "You could shit up they stage they'll be fans". Most would think Kurt meant that. I don't think he meant they give you shitty music because Im pretty sure Kurt realized music was all oppinionated and beleived in the whole concept of beauty in the eye of the beholder stuff. It could be geared towards just the idea that people get less and less and still put up with it.

General Comment:Theres nothing accomplished in any society today even America, we live this illusion like "we the people" are in control, we're living prosperous, like WE change things for the better, THE WAY WE WANT IT. EXCEPT we're a society thats controlled by the mainstream when you really step back and look at it. THE WHOLE OBAMA CHANGE THING for example... It's the same every generation! come on now. The American Constitution we don't even follow not for the past 100 years. The constitution is what protects us from big government and big gov. is all we got.

Kurts singing about his feelings in general and feelings around that area. He was another "step out and looker" kind of person, as is many artists, like KRS-One, Frank Zappa, the guys from Tool, Isis and Children of Boddom etc.

"All the kids will eat it up, if it's packaged properly"

This generation is being fed Aspartame, MSG, BHA, BHT, Benzoates, Aluminum, titanium, fluoride etc.

The Illuminati isn't a conspiracy ''theory'' more and more people today are waking up to the fact that the N.W.O. shit they use to knock a couple years ago and through the 90s' is happening.

THIS SONG IS ABOUT STUPID TRENDS THAT DISTRACT US FROM THE ISSUES THAT WE SHOULD BE PAYING ATTENTION TO!

    *********
We'll eat toxic foods because it looks okay, we'll automaticlly react the same way everybody dose when someone mentions BUSH and we'll cheer when everybody cheers after every second Obama pauses even though no one was really listening. So eat so more foods and drinks that make you stupid and docile you sheeple!

General Comment:This site annoys me, and so do you people who say things that you don't know about. Having an opinion on what it means is one thing, but stating things as facts is just so wrong. If you don't know something, don't say it... You are only misleading people with false information.

First off, the lyrics on the main page are not only very wrong, but they are stupid and they make no sense. Many of them aren't even close. Read the post by "jamiethomas3333" on page 1 who has the lyrics pretty right, and also explains exactly what the song is about.

PuppetStringWorld, You can find the album in lots of places. Use "The Internet".

    "The song has no meaning"

There is a meaning. Just because you don't know what it means, doesn't mean it has no meaning.

To all you people saying Aerosmith suck, and also this person:

Well Nirvana was pretty anti cock rock and all that macho shit floating around. Kurt may have liked those bands when he grew up but I doubt he was a fan in his later years. I see this song more as a criticism than a tribute. Of all the bands I remember Kurt having mentioned as an influence I don't ever recall either of Led Zeppelin or Aerosmith mentioned. All I can recall is The Pixies, Vasolines, Black Flag, Black Sabbath....
    /end of quote

You don't know Kurt very well then. Aerosmith started out in 1970, as a serious hard rock band, and they stayed like that for many years. The Aerosmith you hear today, doing cheesy ballads for movies and stuff, is not the Aerosmith Kurt is referring to. He is referring to the rock n roll band that all real Aerosmith fans know about. He mentioned them numerous times, he was a big fan, he listed them in his top 100, and there is even a video interview where he talks about going to see them live.
As for Led Zeppelin, he worshipped them. He played covers of them in the early days, and you can even find live recordings of Nirvana playing Led Zeppelin songs. I have at least two covers he did, Dazed and Confused, and Heartbreaker. He loved them, they all loved them, and he has talked about them in various interviews.

Wrong. Did you even buy this album? If you did, open the sleeve and read it.

None of the songs on Incesticide are new recordings. Thats waht I meant.

You were right about the first part, but wrong about that bit. Only some of the songs were old songs. The majority were new. Again, read the sleeve. It tells you what is what and from when.

NRIVANA SUCKS. IT'S A TREND. YOU WILL GROW OUT OF THEM.
    /end of quote

It's now 14 years since the band ended and people still love them, do you STILL think it's a trend? :P
