This would be my favorite song off the Hybrid Theory cd, a.k.a. "my" song. I happen to like Linkin Park very much, even though they are not my favorite band by a long shot. All you people bickering about who does and doesn't suck can leave each other alone and let them have their own opinions, thank you. I've just joined this site, but I have seen more pointless sniping back and forth between groups than you would believe. Not just in this section, either. Grow up and respect each others' tastes in music. Have a nice day. ^_^

i have to agree with moon baby. we should just leave people alone with their own likes and dislikes. we need to understand and accept the differences that make us unique but also use our similarities to instill brother and sisterhood to make us stronger.

I didn't have time to read through all of the comments to see if what I am going to say has already been said. There are a lot of ideas of what the song is about and what makes a great song is that each person walks away with their own idea of what it means.

When I see this video I see it saying many things. The first thing I saw it saying was the story of someone who's holding in the pain of abuse. The second I saw was someone who has to live day to day with some sort of mental illness, example: bipolar disorder. And third I also saw it speaking from the point of view of a cutter or self injurer.

Whatever it's about the lyrics are beyond powerful and make you step back and evalutate!

God, I hate Chick Rock. That's what this band is. Take a poll on all the people who think Linkin Park is "OMFG TEH GWETIST BAND EVAR LOLOLLOLOOO!!" I guarantee you 97% of them will be girls between the ages of 13-19. They're an ok band, but thanks to radio and MTV, they are overplayed as ALL FUCKING HELL, and make me want to kill them for making this shit.

Ha! you guys are soo friging right!! I actually used to really like Linkin Park but i dont like them anymore, it pisses me off to no end when bands become mainstream. You got like all these bitchy little teenie boppers listening to their music now adays.Im like fuckin flippin between radio stations and one of their songs will come on so i'll listen to it and it will be followed by like a fuckin N'Sync song.....

Linkin Park is 5 minutes from boy band. Anyone ever heard of Savage Garden? If you have then you'd know that Chester is copying the singer from that group's voice on this song (and many others). If you're going to blatently rip someone off, don't make it some shitty radio rock group. Linkin Park should be thrown down a flight of stairs and burned at the stake.

read all the comments..it went from "this song is awesome" to "linkin sucks"..we need to stop giving such a shit about what others think..just cos its "cool" to hate them, doesnt mean theyre lyrics arent deep and chesters voice isnt haunting..and how can a singer copy anothers voice?? even though i hated the reanimation cd, im sticking with linkin 'cos they really are a talented band..

A band hits the big time and boom, they sold out. You people make me sick.
If you want to really appreciate a band, don't listen to any radio station that says it plays (s)hit music, they'll overplay anything that smells of popularity. Buy a fuckin CD player and listen to what you want. I can guarantee songs wont get overplayed when your the DJ.

An image, what is it? Dark...2 people...one girl and one boy...under a ceiling light...both are crying, why?...the girl, she has done something, but what?...something that now hurts them both...they are trying to regain trust in each other again...they don't know whether tehy are able to continue like this...after what she has done...after she has betrayed him with another boy.

I know that I am getting into this conversation kind of late but I think that some of you people have serious problems. If you are going to ridicule Linkin Park for making the big time then I can assume you are ass holes. To say that a band and its members are "stupid", "sell outs", "5 minutes away from becoming a boyband", or even that the lead singer is trying to copy another person’s way of singing (where the hell you came up with that one I will never know) just because they sell CDs and are well known, is ridiculous. They sell CDs because their music is good and a lot of people can relate to it. There songs can compared with many different situations because that is how they are written. They are about raw emotion, which I, personally, think makes them deeper than a song about one specific situation that can then only be applied to that one situation. Yeah, I admit, there are a lot of teenie boppers out there who will buy Linkin Park CDs thinking that it will make them cool and hard core. But that happens with every band, and those of you who think it is unique to Linkin Park should clue in and know that it is universal and that it happens to bands like Metallica, Slipknot, and got knows how many others. You will see that later on the teenie boppers will go away once LP is no longer mentioned on every “hit station” (speaking of which how many stations do you know of that don’t say something like “we play rock/pop/punk/various hits) whereas true Linkin Park fans will remain fans even after they are not as popular or well known as they are now. The people who come on here and make fun of Linkin Park should know that you are not changing anyone’s mind. If anything you are making more people like them more, just to piss your rude asses off. This site is about song meaning, not how much you hate bands I’d be willing to bet, some of you have never even given a shot. You probably just listened to what everyone told you and stereotyped them as posers. (Which, may I point out is the exact same thing than preps do when they are told that “Justin Timberlake is hot”, “Avril Lavign (sp?) is ,like, so the punk princess”, and that “rock is for losers”) So why don’t you guys grow up, get a life, and let Linkin Park fans tell what they think the song is about instead of saying how much you hate it.

For me Crawling only brings back bad memories of my Sophmore year in high school running on the track team. We were at this meet in Richland. And I ran horrible and the girl I liked told me off. It reminds me of staying in the hotel and going to the meet. I ran in the mile relay team I let them down and that was the worst part. I sat up in the bleachers for part of the day waiting for my race but the whole time I listened and thought about this song in paticular. But that day changed me that meet changed me that girl changed me that race changed me. It is all by the surface the pain controls you so much.
