this song is such crap. nowadays the radio audience is being bombarded with "deeply depressed" lead singers *ahem dudes from linkin park and staind just to name a few ahem* this is so mainstream and so horrible. the song has no depth other than to sell records to mindless people who have no idea what good music is about.

I can't relate to this song in any way, but I still like it. Like most people think, I also think this song is about deprssion. Depression makes everything 'blurry', it' confusing, desperation, no self-confidence, no nothing basically. Only pain, pain, pain. And you shut everything and everyone out of your life. 'My walls are closing in' ...

I don't think that this song has any particular meaning, I believe that the song can be interpreted anyway that you want it to be. The writer probably wanted whoever listened to the song to relate. Isn't that one of the purposes of music? So, I think ya'll are all right! Except for the ass fuckin one and the dude that said it was about acid. You spelled naive wrong stupid ass.

To me this song means that u cant figure out who u are so ur "crawling in ur skin". It majorly defines my life because when ur really seaching for who u r (as all teens do at one point or another) everything just seems so fucked up and u confuse wut is real from wut is faked and its all a big confusing thing. And no matter how hard u try it seems like u just lose urself all over again (confusing....i cant seem to find myself again).

Well I LOVE Linkin Park! This song just shows that LP writes great music, without a doubt it is my favorite. I love the video, the mirrors and the way that all that fog (or whatever it is) clears up. The way that Chester is like in the mirror is cool. Goes to show you just how long Chester can hold a note,lo l :) . Linkin Park 4 ever!

yeah, well i think that Linkin Park SUCK, because there so popular. I mean, it's one of 2 bands, the other being Puddle of Mudd that Teenage girls listen to and reckon it's Well 'ard. Then they think that gives them a right to call themselves *punks* or *Greebo's* or *moshers* when you know really, they would just prefer to paint there nails, bleach there hair, pluck the eye brows, comb the roots, and wear denim jackets, cheek real punks/greebo's/moshers/skaters and sit there fagging away at the age of 13 because some one told them it was *cool*

linkin park forever dude, they sold the most records of any artist in 2001, so i guess majority rules, linkin park is the best beeatch- theyre better than any punk or ska or death metal crap i ever heard, actually theyre the best i ever heard out of any music, so i guess thats not saying a lot, but i think punk, ska, and death metal suck

this song is about feeling like you can't do anything, you feel trapped, you dont know yourself

if you like linkin park, go check out trust company and nonpoint

if you don't, you can blow hydrogen or golgotha

I think that LP was overplayed on the radio, which is why i got extremely tired of In The End and Crawling. Now that most of the radiostations now overplay other songs... i love this song again. It has so much meaning. I think it is about depression and how it just is always present and never goes away."Against my will I stand beside my own reflection It’s haunting how I can’t seem To find myself again" represents how you feel like someone else when you have depression. This song describes what it feels like to live with depression.. or to get bum-raped. Sry.. couldnt resist. Teflonbilly.. that was just way too funny.

I believe that Ell comes the closest to a 'realistic' interpretation to the song's meaning. If not about a heroin addiction then a Methamphetamine addiction. There are Meth users that will often pick at themselves causing "wounds that will not heal" (comparable to the track marks of a heroin user). SOME say it's because they see "insects" crawling on/in their skin, although I'm not entirely in agreement with this. Either of these addictions, possibly because of the "wounds" that occur, will cause the user to feel self-conscious, insecure, and therefore, withdrawn from the society they now fear will pass judgment on them. A Cocaine addiction, though having similar psycological characteristics, does NOT yield the visible physical indications that an addiction to heroin or meth does. So, unless fattymoto knows the band on a personal level and has ASKED them what the song means, I would suggest he do a little more homework.

with my experience this song to me is about acid. when you take acid it goes through your skin or whatever organ to your nerves. once you start tripping you cant stop it and whatever psychological damage it does, theres no turning back. if you get scarred while your tripping theres not much you can do, and it becomes a real extreme of fear and you could lose control of the trip. and you wont know whats real and whats going on. but thats just what it means to me.

To those people that pick on moi's opinions, shut up. I don't care, and you think your really good, because if you don't like LP you can go and do some thing quite disgraceful to moi or hydrogen. Look what an opinion can lead to. On a lesser note, i'm not controlling anything. Good for you if you think i'm a right tramp, because, to be frank, i just don't care! And, i came on to these lyrics because, though i don't like LP, i like this song. I don't like Blink 182 but i like Dammit, so i've got that! You see, the system works.
