Lines on your face don't bother me
Down in my chair when you dance over me
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again

Late in the night when I'm all alone
And I look at the clock and I know you're
not home
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again

I could almost go there
Just to watch you be seen
I could almost go there
Just to live in a dream

But no I won't go for any of those things
To not touch your skin is not why I sing
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again

I could almost go there
Just to watch you be seen
I could almost go there
Just to live in a dream

No I won't go to share you with them
But oh even though I know where
you've been
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again

My Interpretation:I have never heard a more sensual song than 'I've got to see you again.' To me, it is a man who is falling in love with a woman. He will do anything for her affections, and he is all she thinks about. (Whatever his occupation, stripper, singer, plays in a band.) He truly dances only for her. The words, and music, reaches down into the center of their souls, and brings out feelings so incredible entwined that there is no one around but the two of them, like living in a fantasy dream. Her heart fills with song just to touch him. She doesn't care that he is older than her. She wants him only. Does not want to share him, even though she knows he has given in to others who have watched him, and delighted in the fact that they had shared a piece of time with him. Alone and late at night, when he comes home only to her, she cannot help herself, she has to see him again. (Visualize this and feel it.)

My Opinion:This song is just dead sexy. And why do I always picture Norah in a pinstriped suit, fondling a cigar with a wreath of smoke around her head in this dive of a strip joint when I hear this? Hmmm? Got this one on my Stone and I play it way too much...of course she could sing Happy Birthday and make it sound "sultry" (I hate that word).

General Comment:"WHEN YOU DANCE OVER ME"
could mean when you tease me or something like that
but i get where everyone is going with the STRIPPER THING
it's kind of funny to imagine she is singing this beautiful romantic song about desire BUT THE REAL MEANING IS AROUND A GUY'S LUST AND OBSESSION OVER A STRIPPER
... she is talking about it in romantic way she is looked as a hopelesss romatic while in the other hand he would be looked at as the CREEP
it doesn't have to mean you are a creep, you are just obsessing about what you can't have, everyone have gone through something like this

General Comment:This song is about a stripper. The song and lyrics were written by a guy, Jesse Harris. The song was on his album "Crooked Lines" released in Jan. 2002. Norah sings the song better than he does, I purchased both. I first heard the song when my stripper "friend" had the dj play it when she danced naked on stage. After I heard it several times, I had to buy Norah's album. We talked about the lyrics and agreed that it was about a stripper. I have been to many strip clubs in my time, and most have chairs below a raised stage, and many clubs offer lap dances, where a customer sits on a chair and the stripper sits or "dances" on him. I have been obsessed with some strippers before, going in only to see my favorite dancer. Some strip clubs have private lap dance areas, where strippers can do more touching. My friend described the strip club she was working at as an adult Disneyland, where most of the guys dream and fantasize, and there was a time when I didn't want to share her with other customers. Most strip clubs get busy late in the night, and that is when most strippers work. My current girlfriend is a part time stripper.

General Comment:I disagree. I dont think its about a stripper. Not sure if yall read something about her saying its about a stripper but i dont think so. I believe its about missing someone you love that has left you. The dancing lyrical picture portrayed is a metaphor for ur thoughts, memories, and dreams of that person filling ur head at times that you wish you could touch but cant.

General Comment:This song is about wanting to see a stripper. I was kind of surprised that Norah would sing about this, but I suppose it makes sense that the song was written by a male.

General Comment:I've personally always gotten a feeling that this song is about a female stripper. It kind of has a forbidden, lustful, feel to it. Whatever it's about, I absolutely love the song. I first listened to it waiting for my bf alone in the car at night, which just sent chills down my spine!

General Comment:I remember the first time I actually listened to these lyrics, I thought "hold up- she's singing about a stripper!" I think she is dating the stripper and she is turned on by the fact theat he/she is so wanted by everyone, but at the same time she doesn't want to share and she is conflicted with whether or not it is worth it (She decides it is).
