  General Comment:Yes, the song is missing a stanza or three.This song is for all the people who are unable to see their own beauty and for those who, at times, do not feel loved. I love Cocker's music, but especially his sentiment. "You are SO beautiful...to me."

  General Comment:I just got my new prescription lenses and my vision is not impaired....20/20, baby! Why is it we can see in others what they cannot see in themselves? Joe Cocker's talent (and this song) are impressive.

    Oopsie. I forgot to interpret the lyrics. It's a song about L.O.V.E.... the big bad scary emotion that involves trust; risk; and yes, possible loss. But the alternative is loss w/o love. Life's a gamble, and I will gamble for love any day of the week, especially when it involves someone whose strengths are so incredibly beautiful (and sexy:) Beauty, to me, is not perfection. It's intelligence; creativity; talent; common interests; rugged good looks; the ability to feel; and energy. (If he likes to sit like Al Bundy guarding the TV remote than he's kicked to the curb, though:)

  General Comment:Grew up with Joe Cocker and his music. I absolutely adore both. There is a verse missing, though. No human being is entirely beautiful...outside or inside. But some people are perfect for us in ways that they perhaps don't even see. They have amazing qualities that light up our lives, qualities that we've not found in others. So we accept them warts and all, concentrating on the many positives. I will never understand how I attained my husband, but I am just grateful he gave me such special children.

    Nothing you typed makes it a song about God. It's a song about love. Night is a metaphor for rough times. And Heaven sends gifts to us in the form of partners. This song is too romantic to be about God, although if you hear God than it's about God....
