Graffiti decorations
Under the sky of dust
A constant wave of tension
On top of broken trust
The lessons that you taught me
I learned were never true

Now I find myself in question
They point the finger at me again
Guilty by association
You point the finger at me again

I wanna run away
Never say goodbye
I wanna know the truth
Instead of wondering why
I wanna know the answers
No more lies
I wanna shut the door
And open up my mind

Paper bags and angry voices
Under a sky of dust
Another wave of tension
Has more than filled me up
All my talk of taking action
These words were never true

Now I find myself in question
They point the finger at me again
Guilty by association
You point the finger at me again

I wanna run away
Never say goodbye
I wanna know the truth
Instead of wondering why
I wanna know the answers
No more lies
I wanna shut the door
And open up my mind

I'm gonna run away, and never say goodbye
Gonna run away
Gonna run away
I'm gonna run away and never wonder why
Gonna run away
Gonna run away
I'm gonna run away and open up my mind
Gonna run away
Gonna run away
Gonna run away
Gonna run away

I wanna run away
Never say goodbye
I wanna know the truth
Instead of wondering why
I wanna know the answers
No more lies
I wanna shut the door
And open up my mind

I wanna run away and open up my mind
I wanna run away and open up my mind
I wanna run away and open up my mind
I wanna run away and open up my mind
I wanna run away and open up my mind
I wanna run away and open up my mind

General Comment:i like to apply this song to everyday life. For example:everyday i go out in the woods by my house and smoke weed and admire all the beauty of the world GOD has given us. that is my application of this song in real life.

My Interpretation:This song touches one of LP's favourite themes, emotional outbursts against an oppressor. It
's about ending an ongoing conflict filled with deceit and lies by running away and starting over. Great song.

General Comment:One of my favourites off Hybrid Theory ^_^; I particularly like the 1st Verse.

The song itself is pretty easy to understand but the lyrics used are, I think anyway, are pretty poetic in describing things. I.e
    "Graffiti Decorations" = tatoos?
    "Paper Bags" = Hyperventilating?

I think the general idea behind it is someone running away from their parents/family seen in "The lessons that you taught me" and "guilty by association"

    But feel free to correct me ^^;

General Comment:this song is amazing, for the people who like linkin park, rock on, for people who dont, thats too bad, just not your style huh? but if your gonna bitch about music, find a different website! music is ment to listen to and to vent through it, not to produce more anger and stress, you dont like it fine, but instead of saying shit about them, how about you grow up? get a fucking life! LP Rulez in my opinion but i aint gonna push shit on you guys, i like linkin park, you dont? fine, but quit saying shit you arent gonna do shit about!

General Comment:I deffinitely think this song talks about how a relationship is tearing someone apart and just wants to free his mind, but knows he cant. That's what it seems to me right now at least.

General Comment:I know the true meaning of this song, but it kind of relates to my current situation. Lately I've been talking to this Max guy I really like...but all he ever has to tell me about is his problems. It's like I'm worthless to him, I'm just being used. And I really want to "runaway"...to block him out of my life. To forget.

General Comment:Linkin Park announced that they write their songs based on problems they themselves have been faced with or that they've heard about or seen. famous has a good point. I think this song is about people who are blamed for what they themselves didn't do. "onto of broken trust" i think they are referring to the trust lost between the person and his friends. "I wanna know the answers. No more lies .I wanna shut the door
And open up my mind" he could be trying to find himself (not sure if its a guy or a girl but whatever). He just wants to run away from his life and try to open his mind so that he can find who he is and learn the truth without constant interruption. Many teens are blamed for and labeled because of what their friends do or are.
Even the generation above us label us as bad kids. I've had older people be suspicious of me just because I'm a teen. teenagers now a days have a bad reputation and i think thats one of the other things they are trying to portray.
