Lyrics for In The End as interpreted by Matt

In The End Lyrics
It starts with one
One thing I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time
All I know
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
It's so unreal
Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on but didn't even know
Wasted it all just to
Watch you go
I kept everything inside and even though I tried it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when...

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
to lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

One thing I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme
To remind myself how
I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I'm surprised it got so (far)
Things aren't the way they were before
You wouldn't even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me
In the end
You kept everything inside and even though I tried it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I tried

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
to lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
for all this
There's only one thing you should know

I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There's only one thing you should know
I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
to lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

I think Linkin Park is a totally talented, awesome group. In The End is by far my all-time favorite song! It carries a lot of personal meaning for me, and I think it's an easy song for tons of people to relate to. Rock on Linkin Park!

Wow, I'm glad someone knows how to type in all caps...maybe one day you'll get the hang of punctuation marks too.
I liked the Crawlin video much better. It had more of a point.
But to each their own.

The reason I loved, and still love, this song is because I love the way it tells a unique story; it's just like so many other Linkin Park songs. Linkin Park's songs find a pathway to your head and they get stuck there for a long time, and I really grow attached to songs that do that. They are a totally talented group that loves what they do so that makes it twice as better. I've never been to a concert physically, but I watched them on MTV's show, Unplugged, and they were tooo cool. They were hype so the crowd was hype with them and the energy moved with the entire crowd.

Damn, I liked this song when it wasn't so popular. I really thought that there was something different in this song (well at least lyrics are really good), but then the video came out and now I hear this song everywhere.
Now it's just a song along the rest.
It's a good song, but not SO good, I'm bored to it already.

I'm new to SongMeanings, but I still couldn't help myself, so I had to write something. This song is unbelievable. I'm not usually into Linkin Park and other stuff like it, but this is amazing. I'll just sit with my eyes closed and feel it take over. It's got lots of energy. Rock on!

When a friend first exposed me to Linkin Park back when they had just broken into MTV2, this was the song that he downloaded. He did not know why, but he did. This song to me is about a relationship with a girl. Nothing matters in the end no matter how hard you try. The weird thing is that when we got the CD, we realized that we could relate to most of the songs on it, and we had both just gotten out of relationships where we got dicked over. Then Linkin Park hit mainstream...now everyone is like "YEAH LINKIN PARK WHOO!!!"...But oh well...This song is my favorite Linkin Park song...

my bf & i had just broken up when i first heard this song. i love the lyrics & everything else about this song. this song describes how things were towards the end, so perfectly that it's scary.
i talked 2 him a few weeks ago & he asked me if i knew who linkin park was cuz he thought that they're so great.
a friend of mine was makin fun of us cuz we got a song (this song)after we broke up

It sucks that Linkin Park became a teenie bopper band and MTV is using them to rake in the bucks. Papercut is another great song by Linkin Park. Once the video for Papercut hits big, everyone is going to listen to it everywhere. I was an LP fan since they first came out.

I thought this was a site where one writes their interpretation of the lyrics of a song, not where you simply say thst you are so cool because you listened to the band before everyone else. Or that you don't like the band......if this is the case go visit a site with a band you do like and make a posative intellectual comment.

i used to be your typical music fan, i like all types (except of course britney pop) until one day a while ago my friend was like o listen to this band called linkin park there little but they have a kick ass sound.. from that moment on i am addicted. "i tried so hard and got so far, but in the end it doesnt even matter" words to live by, because no matter how well you do in life, when your time comes you will lose it all anyway.

i used to like Linkin Park but due to the media tendency to overplay them. they just tear my ears off with repetitive uncreative rapcore junk. but ,to me, this song is about how even with overwhelming efforts to maintain, things still fall apart

vamp, either make a useful comment next time or don't say anything. Anyways, Linkin Park kicks ass, despite what people say. Everytime some band gets overplayed people complain like little whiny bitches, and then that band is considered a sellout when they show up on TRL. Well, it's not the band's fault if they show up there, it's the so-called fans' fault. People call Linkin Park the "loudest boy band in the world," but those people need their brains checked anyways. To me, In The End is about a person who has done everything he possibly could to make him and other people happy, but when it all comes down to it they don't appreciate him so he winds up spending everyday in his self-loathing.

This song means to me... relationships are frustrating, but its all part of the process which is life. And it reminds me to be open and honest and communicate my feelings always.

what I thought this song meant is that no matter what you do in your life or who you attempt to impress, when it comes down to it, it was all for nothing...so all that effort and time was wasted on something that never really mattered
