You can depend
On certainty
Count it out and weigh it up again
You can be sure
You've reached the end
And still you don't feel
You know about anything
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
You are, yes you are
You can ignore
What you've become
Take it out and see it die again
You can be here
For who's a friend
And still you don't feel
You know about anything
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
You are, yes you are
Innermost thoughts
Will be understood and
You can have all you need
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
You are, yes you are
On certainty
Count it out and weigh it up again
You can be sure
You've reached the end
And still you don't feel
You know about anything
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
You are, yes you are
You can ignore
What you've become
Take it out and see it die again
You can be here
For who's a friend
And still you don't feel
You know about anything
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
You are, yes you are
Innermost thoughts
Will be understood and
You can have all you need
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
Do you know you're beautiful
You are, yes you are

I meant "myself"
And also, that comment was about the 7" Canny Remix version of the song, the one they played at the end of Iron-Jawed Angels, which was a a great movie.
I love how the singer almost sounds like she's shivering. The effect is this light, dreamy, ethereal feeling
It doesn't have anything to do with the actual meaning of this song, but whenever I hear it, I think back to my 8th grade trip to Washington DC. That was when I was still living in the US and I had this intense crush (haha) on this guy in school, which worked out horribly, and combined with having to move to a different country and deal with frequent anxiety attacks, that year tore me apart emotionally and packaged me nicely for a trip to the psychiatrist.
However, my DC trip was just the start all of that, so this song really pulls up those nostalgic feelings and stands as a reminder to much I can lose if I don't believe in oneself... or think of myself as "beautiful"
So yeah, everytime I hear this song, it's a mixture of inspiration and nostalgia; I'm at once elated and close to tears.
"You can depend/ On certainty /Count it out and weigh it up again/"
You can depend on me, I'll be there for you. I love you but you should love yourself "do you know, you're beautiful"
so easy and so deep
