Lyrics for Instant Karma as interpreted by kevin

Instant Karma Lyrics
Instant karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head
You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead
What in the world you thinking of
Laughing in the face of love
What on earth you tryin' to do
It's up to you, yeah you

Instant karma's gonna get you
Gonna look you right in the face
Better get yourself together darlin'
Join the human race
How in the world you gonna see
Laughin' at fools like me
Who in the hell d'you think you are
A super star
Well, right you are

Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Ev'ryone come on

Instant karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you off your feet
Better recognize your brothers
Ev'ryone you meet
Why in the world are we here
Surely not to live in pain and fear
Why on earth are you there
When you're ev'rywhere
Come and get your share

Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
Come on and on and on on on
Yeah yeah, alright, uh huh, ah

Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
On and on and on on and on

Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun

instant karma can translate into an anti drug and religious song by hinting that religion is like a drug

infact i think that, very little of the song is about drugs, its just that the song is and sounds so cool
that gives it a drug-like experiance feel to it

Instant Karma = Bible ?

Karma is everything a person has done, is doing, and will do...thus Instant Karma...as Lennon puts it is what are you doing now! doing now to make the world a better place...everyone's a superstar, famous or not...so everyone has the responsibility to step up and make a difference..."We ALL shine on"...pretty inspiring song!

I love how the drums sound very similar to a heart beat. This was when John started working with Phil Spektor, and he loved the way Phil made it sound as if there were more people playing on the track than there actually were.

This song was about Stu Stucliffe I heard. He left the early Beatles to fufill his Art dreams in Germany.
But it could also mean the Maharishi since he was still upset with him.
Or it could mean Paul McCartney, but who got the bad Karma in the end? Well...both. But Paul is STILL alive!

I think this song challenges the existence of god and those who follow him. "Why in the world are we here? Surely not to live in pain and fear"... to me this line and others such as "join the human race" portray themselves in an atheistic fashion. one that suggests to live for today. "pretty soon your gonna be dead". God or not.

Instant Karma, as i read it, is a tounge-in-cheek 'salute' to narcissistic, self-centered people who screw over and belittle the decent, those with integrity... and this song says, you're no better than the rest of it, you know, we know it, you are what you do, so go ahead.. but when you do good, it feels good.. instantly. so shine on

Karma is the eastern idea that you have a purpose in life. Instant Karma was the sudden realization that your hum drum life is not that purpose. It's asking "why in the world are we here?, surly not to live in pain and fear" and answering " love is the answer and you know that for sure"

The Beatles were much more than a rock group.
