Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky
Imagine all the people
Livin' for today
Ah
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Livin' life in peace
You
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky
Imagine all the people
Livin' for today
Ah
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Livin' life in peace
You
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Despite the hymnal-parlor arrangement, what Johnny Rebel wrote about and is articulating in Imagine is a complete refusal and rejection of the rules and restrictions the world system gives us and takes away. Imagine is all about liberation and something we must all believe in if we want to make a better place for humanity. Lennon was and will always be-a seeker of the truth. Lennon understood this fact better than anyone in rock
I don't see evidence that John Lennon was especially concerned about "humanity". He was a great commercial song writer and made hundreds of millions of dollars doing it. No problem there. Considering his enormous fortune, he gave very little to charities and notoriously complained about charity performances. Fighting real evil is a better start to making a better world than day-dreaming about making paradise on earth. We tried that with Communism. You either know what to believe in or you don't. Hint: it's not John Lennon. Why people, like yourself, think commercial artists have answers to social problems is beyond me. Work on your own life!
