We are amazed but not amused
By all the things you say that you'll do
Though much concerned but not involved
With decisions that are made by you

But we are sick and tired of hearing your song
Telling how you are gonna change right from wrong
'Cause if you really want to hear our views
You haven't done nothing

It's not too cool to be ridiculed
But you brought this upon yourself
The world is tired of pacifiers
We want the truth and nothing else, yeah

And we are sick and tired of hearing your song
Telling how you are gonna change right from wrong
'Cause if you really want to hear our views
You haven't done nothing

Jackson 5 join along with me say doo doo wop
Hey hey hey, doo doo wop
Wow wow wow, doo doo wop
Hm hm hm, doo doo wop
Co co co, doo doo wop
Bum bum bum, doo doo wop

We would not care to wake up to the nightmare
That's becoming real life
But when mislead, who knows a person's mind
Can turn as cold as ice un hum

Why do you keep on making us hear your song
Telling us how you are changing right from wrong
'Cause if you really want to hear our views
You haven't done nothing
Yeah, na, na, nothing

Jackson 5 sing along again say doo doo wop
Hey hey hey, doo doo wop
Oh, doo doo wop
Bum bum bum, doo doo wop
Sing it, baby, doo doo wop
Bum bum bum, doo doo wop
Bum bum bum, doo doo wop
Hm-mm, sing it loud now, for your people, sing doo doo wop
Bum bum bum, doo doo wop, better come and say doo doo wop
Co co co, doo doo wop
Oh, doo doo wop
Bum bum bum, doo doo wop
Doo doo wop
Doo doo wop
Doo doo wop
Doo doo wop
Doo doo wop

No comments on this amazing, funky number prompt me to throw my two cents into the mix. Stevie Wonder created the perfect protest song with this entry. To me it has always been a generic protest song in many ways but since this song was released in the Nixon era, I believe Stevie was singing to him. To this day, when I hear this song and sing along, I think of that $%#@! Nixon.

Now read the lyrics again and think of our current president. “and we are sick and tired of hearing your song”. Great, timeless stuff. I think Stevie Wonder is the one of the top 10 most important songwriters of the last 50 years.

Isn't there a comment type for corrections to mistakes in the lyrics? (Didn't there use to be?)

Anyway, there's a mistake in the lyrics. In the first verse after the first Jackson Five chorus, the line "But when mislead who knows a person's mind / Can turn as cold as ice" should say "misled" instead of "mislead". Stevie clearly sings a short "e".

Confusing the verbs "lead" and "led" is a common typo, because of the noun "lead" (meaning the metal) which looks like the first and sounds like the second.

Hope this helps. It's an awesome and timeless song.

A song that applies to the many empty promises made by Politicians, back when Stevie wrote this and sadly nothing has changed.

Why do you keep on making us hear your song Telling us how you are changing right from wrong 'Cause if you really want to hear our views "You haven't done nothing"!

I could hear this song again as a slander against Bush. And the Black-Eyed Peas could join Stevie this time.

It's kind of amazing... here I am reading these lyrics 5 years after the last comments - and the lyrics could still be ripped from the headlnes! I am sad to say that I don't think that Stevie Wonder would apply these words to the current regime... which only goes to show that sometimes the song is much greater than the singer.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
