It's been a long, long, long time
How could I ever have lost you
When I loved you
It took a long long long time
Now I'm so happy I found you
How I love you

So many tears I was searching
So many tears I was wasting
Oh, oh

Now I can see you, be you
How can I ever misplace you
How I want you
Oh, I love you
You know that I need you
Oh, I love you

Song Meaning:After hearing "Helter Skelter", then going into "Long Long Long", really plays tricks on your ears!!!
George is my fave Beatle, and this song is one of the reasons why!
I like how George sings/whispers the song cuz he's really really trying to get you to listen to it!
I think the song would have been better if it had faded out the way that the song began with the guitar. But I do like the "vibrating wine glass on the amp" sound.
    Awesome song!

General Comment:I would like to offer a somewhat odd interpretation of the song. I know that Harrison himself has said that the song was about his love for God, but taking a very spiritual interpretation...this song could kind of mean the acceptance of one's true self (beyond the singular "ego", of course). That is what the song reminds me of, personally. It is the idea that you search for something outside of yourself to guide you along, and then find that is within you as your deepest essence. I think lines like "Now I can see you, be you" are indicative of this type of interpretation, but I confess the view is biased by my own experiences with spirituality.

General Comment:I don't know why the howl is there, and what it's supposed to signify. But it so haunting, and amplifies the emotion of it all so much. The lyrics calmly convey one thought, and then, Bam! - you get hit with the howl. It really gives that edge to it all.

General Comment:Bear with me. At first this reminded me of having a dog run away, and then come back again. The howl (sound) at the end makes that seem even more perfect. It means so much more to me as a love or spiritual song, but the dog howl at the end made me feel better about my original feeling about the song.

General Comment:This is the only song that's ever actually made me cry. You can write a million songs about the complexities of love and never come close to the emotional power of this simple little song.
" How could I ever have lost you when I loved you?" That's what it all comes down to when you're hearts broken. George is the man!

General Comment:Re-uniting with a loved one....and that part about
the vibrating bottle is correct. I put the song on a
friend's record player...and every time that bass
sitar (or whatever it is) comes in,a green glass
bottle of wine WILL vibrate...very odd,but nice!

General Comment:it's about losing sight of God (or losing your faith), but then regaining it and wondering how you could have ever lost something so huge in the first place.
